Was just reading the front page article. I believe that the problem with the amount of abuse that goes on in the catholic church is due to the unbiblical idea that priests can not marry. This sort of idea was actually condemned by the apostles who said:

1 Timothy 4:2-4 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving

Now I am not saying all catholics are hypocrits, or liars. But the idea that you can not marry and be a priest is unbiblical. In fact the bible is very clear about the fact that if men can not control them selves sexually they SHOULD MARRY. 1Co 7:9 And the apostle said 1Co 9:5 Don't we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord's brothers and Cephas?

So the apostles had wives. The teaching is not sound, and leads to desperation, and when they are desperate they turn to the vanerable and weak around them, who they think will not have a voice. I believe these people are not true believers, who have no living relationship with God. Maybe in their minds a woman is a greater sin than a boy. Sick as that is maybe it is true.

Victoms have the right to a voice, and no organisation should cover up its crimes. The catholic church should rather than be covering up all the time, be thinking about returning to biblical Christianity, in regard to it's priest hood, allowing priests to make a choice to marry and not loose privelages.
