Hello and question about hell

There are cases of NDE where the brain wasn't functional; A non-functional brain does not hallucinate.

A non-functional brain might not hallucinate, but who is to say the hallucinations didn't occur while the brain was still functional? Unless you have some kind of spectral stopwatch, you can't make that determination.

It would be a strange world we live in were hallucination an effect of a non-functional brain. Clearly, we have it all wrong. Wink

How about I give you an example of 'non-functional'...

Quote:Pam Reynolds Lowery (1956 – May 22, 2010), from Atlanta, Georgia, was an American singer-songwriter. In 1991, at the age of 35, she stated that she had a near-death experience (NDE) during a brain operation performed by Robert F. Spetzler at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. Her experience is one of the most widely documented in near-death studies because of the circumstances under which it happened. Reynolds was under close medical monitoring during the entire operation. During part of the operation she had no brain-wave activity and no blood flowing in her brain, which rendered her clinically dead. She claimed to have made several observations during the procedure which later medical personnel reported to be accurate.

So............... no then. Gotcha.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Many theists claim to have had “personal experiences” and want the rest of us to accept that as proof.

Personal experiences are only truly “proof” to those who “experienced” them.

Once while working A&E I had a patient brought in who was adamant he was being chased by a small man with big teeth and red skin.

That was proof to him.  The fact that he was higher than a kite at the time didn’t matter.  Should I have believed him just because he was so certain and wanted me to believe?

Every single example people have submitted had to do with drugs, this isn't even remotely the same thing.

Not true, Huggy.

According to the patients testimony, she was outside her body and able to observe the surgery and recount conversation between the staff, this is DURING the time the brain was not functioning as corroborated by the surgical staff.

Why not believe him?  Fairies also used to be widely believed in until recently:

Quote:Fairies are generally described as human in appearance and having magical powers. Diminutive fairies of various kinds have been reported through centuries, ranging from quite tiny to the size of a human child.[8] These small sizes could be magically assumed, rather than constant.[9] Some smaller fairies could expand their figures to imitate humans.[10] On Orkney, fairies were described as short in stature, dressed in dark grey, sometimes seen in armour.[11] In some folklore, fairies have green eyes. Some depictions of fairies show them with footwear, others as barefoot. Wings, while common in Victorian and later artworks, are rare in folklore; fairies flew by means of magic, sometimes perched on ragwort stems or the backs of birds.[12] Modern illustrations often include dragonfly or butterfly wings.[13]

Wikipedia -- Fairy

By your logic, fairies must exist because there are people who have "seen" them.

Actually many priests and monks claim that fairies, leprechauns, genies, etc exist but they are in fact demons. But if you believe in Jesus and prove your faith with generous tithing , then these demons (big and small) will no harm you
I liked the parts where these old yahoodies tolchock each other and then drink their Hebrew vino, and getting onto the bed with their wives' handmaidens.
