I honestly stopped understanding what you're talking about. You went down an incomprehensible path a while ago, invoking johnism, an leprechauns, and a whole assortment of other terms I don't know how you're using.

So to begin clarifying my position. Wherever there is a functional system in the brain, it will require an evolutionary explanation for its emergence. Are we agreed on that so far?

Idk, I can only note that so far, there has been.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

That’s not quite right. Scientific theories are bodies of facts that describe, to the best of our current knowledge, the mechanism of action for a particular phenomenon. Science is the tool that allows us to collect the data that goes into building a theory. You and I are free to accept or not accept any theory, (scientific or laymen’s) for any reason, but it doesn’t necessary follow that those reasons are sound.

You’re a Christian. Do you think there is a well-evidenced case for your assertion that Yahweh created the universe, and Jesus is his son who died for your sins and came back to life three days later? I’m just curious if you apply the same strict standards of evidence you use for evaluating the theory of evolution to your religious beliefs?  You said earlier that if there is insufficient evidence to accept a theory, that doesn’t mean we have to replace it with something else. Do you, personally, have a replacement hypothesis in mind if evolution fails to meet your standards of evidence? If your answer is yes, what is the hypothesis, and what compelling evidence has lead you to think it’s a possible, or even probable alternative?

And for the purposes of this thread I'm no longer Christian. Sorry. You can safely dispose of that label. I temporarily (or perhaps permanently) de-converted.

Is this a tacit admission of trolling, Johnny?

No ma'am, I'll take any blood tests, x-rays, even lie detection tests you need to prove it. Put me in an MRI machine, you'll see no such religious beliefs swimming through my neurons.

Well still see mistaken beliefs about evolutionary theory.

No, no, don't start. We're clarifying our positions so we know where we disagree, remember? So far, I think evolution has to explain the emergence of function, and you only know that it has done so, so far.

The next step, which is where the OP beings, is me saying that evolutionary narratives of how the eye evolved, which make no reference to the evolution of the rest of the visual system, are simplistic if not misleading. Do you agree?

Hello Mr Breezy! Big Grin

Uhm...... I don't think neural bundles quite work that way?

There are reforded cases where human brains have been born without requisite neural bundles/pathways/developments and yet the overall development of the systems still have the needed functions.

Unable to provide links atm.

Cheers.
