RE: Who's the most prominent Christian on this forum?

Fr0d0 has the most posts. (But some don't think he is a Christian)
I would say Tackattack, but he hasn't been here for a long while.
Godschild doesn't post as much as he used to, but he is still in the front of the pack.
Statler's been gone for about a month.
Dirch is still about.
...
Really, that's as far as it goes these days. I highly doubt one so arrogant as the OP seems would ever lead the pack of the Christians.

Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day

The ancient Egyptian religion was about 4 thousand years old when everyone just sort of... left.
Now they're mostly muslims.... go figure!
It's not how old the religion is. I do believe. I have examined myself why I believe when there is no evidence. I think it's because I've heard, recited and participated in the Liturgy too many times. I think some might call it brainwashing. I have been singing the Magnificat and the Nunc Dimittis EVERY evening for as long as I can remember and only stopped doing it when I left England recently. I suppose logically speaking, it is a form of brainwashing. But however one terms it, I do enjoy Evensong.
Once, some boys got tired of doing this daily ritual and the Dean told us how the prayers have been sung EVERYDAY for the past 900 years even right through the Interregnum when anyone caught singing it would have been killed by Oliver Cromwell?
Anyway, my avatar pic is the pic of the cathedral which I took at my last Evensong before I left England. That's the cathedral where the prayers have been sung everyday for 900 years without ceasing.

"Your people" would just say that you've been indoctrinated, not brainwashed... that just sounds like it's something you shouldn't do.... something sinful.

Indeed.
Tackattack is the best christian on these forums, but I don't see him around much.
Don't misunderstand me, I think his beliefs are completely wrong, but he's a good guy with a solid intellect.

So far, the only Christian I have seen apart from myself is Atom. Seems like a nice chap but I don't agree with lots of things he says.

I think geneknight has the most effective and honest Christian position, but it doesn't make for much argument. I already respect him, although he seems to be carrying a bit of paranoia about us believing him a Christian from his stint at Christian Forums.

I agree that Tacky was the best of the lot.

Don't call them stupid or ignorant shitheads. They just don't know. We all don't know. But that's ok.
They have their beliefs and we, yes I'm saying we as I've recently been mutually convinced by you, Minimalist. We have our beliefs as well.
Should we blame them for trying to put everything in a senseful way? No, I don't think so. And sure I may have said some stupid things but I was trying to put some theist point across but that's OK, sorry for being an asshole.
I just wanted to say that.

Although I appreciate your honesty, you do hold a very frustrating position.
I'll bet you don't apply this to any other aspect of your life, or any other supernatural claim. It is an amazing feat of mental compartmentalization that you are able to do this.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Suppose there were a Bronze Age religion that claimed that certain entities existed in the sky that devoured light and crushed everything--ala a black hole. Let's say that Bob lived back then, but didn't have any tools for measuring things like red-light shifts and so forth, so he couldn't actually detect the presence of a black hole.
Should Bob believe in the existence of black holes, which actually do exist? Or should he refuse to believe in their existence?
