The simple truth

Good News, do you seriously think we haven't immediately become suspicious about your new found supporter? Smells like a sock to me.
And incidentally, do you honestly think that coming here and lying to us is the best way to transmit your message? Is your god okay with lying? Because, when you come here with your complete, utter fabrication of what evolution is... well, that's a lie, kitten. Quote:Well seeing as God is eternal and outside the realm of this universe it's not that strange. Or do you want to make the claim that the universe is eternal and self sustaining? Even though everything is dying around you? Including yourself. Is this the kind of poster you're going to be? The kind who just makes fiat assertions without any kind of justification until we all get bored and stop listening? Is that what you want?

Well I can't stop you from being suspicious. No, God hates lies and so do I. Tell me exactly what it is I lied about and I will apologise? I also apologise for my ignorance of this matter. What is the flat assertion, without justification, that I made? That everyone and everything is dying? (February 14, 2014 at 12:50 am)The Good News Wrote: Well I can't stop you from being suspicious. I'd be a bad mod if I wasn't suspicious of that. Quote:No, God hates lies and so do I. Tell me exactly what it is I lied about and I will apologise? I also apologise for my ignorance of this matter. Evolution is not, has not, and never will be, ever, "people coming from rocks." This is a field of science that has existed for over a century, so I find it hard to believe that you've never been exposed to some real information about it, but more importantly, what does it say about you if you hadn't? What kind of honesty could you have, if you decided to disagree with a thing without bothering to do any research about it first? I have to ask, how seriously are you taking this? How interested in the truth are you? Because the way you've conducted yourself on this subject thus far is, frankly, embarrassing. I'm going to leave this here. It's an index to claims made by creationists and other religious people. On the off chance that you're actually here for an honest discussion about your beliefs, it'd be really nice if you could look for any claims you want to make on that list first, and read what actual science has to say about them first. The biology and paleontology sections should have everything you need to know; you might find that some of the things you believe to be true are actually dead wrong. I'm not saying to discard everything you believe. What I am saying is that, if your claims have been addressed, then making them to us probably won't do much for your credibility. Creationists have an unfortunate habit of keeping outright lies in their arguments well beyond science finding the actual truth, so you'll probably need something extra. Quote:What is the flat assertion, without justification, that I made? That everyone and everything is dying? That god is eternal and outside space and time. Without even verifying that god exists, you're going to have a hard time justifying that claim. You're in an atheist forum; we aren't automatically going to credit you with the existence of the deity that we, by definition, don't believe in.

Not for lying but because I was't clear enough. I did not mean that evolutionists believe humans literally formed out of rocks, I meant the type of evolution where over a large period of time an inanimate object would then change into a living being. I don't need to justify any of my claims that are biblically true. The Bible is God's word sent for man to obey. No amount of saying "prove it" is going to change that fact. You do not know that the Bible is not God's word. I know that it is His word. Quote: If I handed you a book, which I had written, and told you it was what I believe would you simply label it spam? Nah. The word I'd chose is "bullshit." I might look to see if you had a bibliography. (February 14, 2014 at 1:39 am)The Good News Wrote: In that case I do apologise. Okay, now you're just making me sad, because it's clear that you didn't bother with my request before you posted again. So let me be clearer: evolution has never stated that inanimate objects will turn into living ones over time, either. That's literally, from the very moment the theory was proposed, never been a part of it. Evolution is a process that happens exclusively within groups of living organisms. The term you're thinking of is abiogenesis, not evolution. They aren't connected; evolution happens to things that are alive, abiogenesis describes life forming from non life. Now, it doesn't have as strong a body of evidence supporting it as evolution does, but we know through experiments that abiogenesis is at least possible; we just don't know how- or if- it happened here on earth. Like I said, please go and actually learn what you're talking about before you decide it's wrong. Quote:I don't need to justify any of my claims that are biblically true. If you're going to have a productive discussion with people who don't believe the bible is god's anything, then you're going to need to start justifying your statements. You say you're here to preach the gospel: do you want to be convincing while you do that, or do you want to be ignored and then eventually banned for disobeying rule one? You'll find most of us here will be happy to take your points seriously and discuss them with you; what will turn us off real quick is being talked past and berated by someone who's uninterested in understanding why we might not find the bible convincing. Nothing is going to sink your ship faster than not listening and adapting; we aren't a captive audience here, you know.

Thank you for the correction. Though it could have been avoided if you had simply pointed it out in the last post as I requested. I have to say I do believe in abiogenesis. I believe God literally made man out of the dust of the ground. I also believe the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead, giving life to His dead body. Also I'd like to ask, at what point have I berated anyone? To be honest it seems it has been others who have been berating me. Though if you show where it is you feel I have berated anyone I will apologise to that person. (February 14, 2014 at 2:19 am)The Good News Wrote: Thank you for the correction. Getting bombarded with bible verses is... well, it's basically getting beaten over the head with stuff that most of us already know, and have decided is untrue. It's an ineffective tactic, though I will give you credit for being gentler than most.
