Agreed. It is foolish to characterize as "near death" experiences for which there is no corroborating scientific data. First hand reports have their interest in psychology but it is hardly support for thinking experiences reported by living people tell us anything at all about the nature of death or dying.
Or the nature of what comes after death.

Enough with the false dichotomies... If science can't 100% explain it then I win and my crazy explanation is the only thing left.
Is sick of this kind of retarded logic.
Apparently you still don't get it. I personally BELIEVE in an afterlife. The fact that you can't prove it scientifically is what makes it a belief. You on the other hand require proof, which is fine, but the ironic thing is you offer your own crazy explanation with no science behind it, the same thing you just accused me of.
Hypocritical, no?

I'm pretty sure I know what comes after death.
Feck all. Pretty relaxing and stress free though. Beats endlessly sucking some old guy's dick while harp music is played on a loop. But enough about my childhood.

Huggy most normal people go with the most likely explanation.
When I'm searching for the last cookie in the cookie jar that only I can reach and find nothing, I assume I must have eaten it and not realized it was the last one or forgotten.
When you're searching for the last cookie and find nothing, do you assume it was abducted by aliens after which it underwent numerous operations and experimentation and was subsequently returned to the wrong cookie jar?

Fair enough

But you don't KNOW what is most likely do you? After all, can you explain consciousness? what is it that makes you self aware? Even science knows that energy cannot be created or destroyed.
As the Bible teaches, you existed long before your body was created and you'll exist long after it is gone. the only one with the power to destroy your essence is God.
Quote: Matthew 10
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

The bible: the last resort of a dying argument.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

And the Edda teaches us something different.
Quote: Unfettered will fare the Fenris Wolf
and ravaged the realm of men,
ere that cometh a kingly prince
as good, to stand in his stead.
So what's your point, since both are tales of the gods.

Actually the Bible should be the first resort for any Christian, seeing how that is the basis of their belief.
But I used the Bible in this instance to show that the axiom "energy cannot be created or destroyed" was essentially contained in the Bible all along.

That's one interpretation.
I think a more accurate one would be that you shouldn't fear death of the body as the "soul" is immortal, unless you fall away from the faith which damns both body and soul.
Of course, I don't claim the bible contains scientific knowledge.
