More atheist men than women?

I thought I addressed that already. great. but she can't carry life without getting pregnant first, whereas women are of no need to the man who becomes a priest. in fact, most are celibate. Quote:I believe it does have reason. God gave one very important role to one gender, and another very important role to the other gender. I don't know why He chose women for the birth one, and men for the sacrament one, but to me that part is not important. but you can't say what that reason is. so how can you tell this is what god intended and not just what men in power intended? Since it's hard for me to explain in my own words, I hope it's ok that I post this here from a Catholic dictionary: "Spiritual life: The life of the Holy Spirit, dwelling in the souls of the faithful and enabling them to praise and love God and serve him in the practice ov firtue. It is called the spiritual life because: 1. its animating principle is the Spirit of god, the "Soul of the soul" in sanctifying grace; 2. it is the supernatural life of the human spirit; 3. it is mainly lived out in the spiritual faculties of intellect and will, although affecting the whole person, body and soul." ...So we believe the sacraments (which can only be performed by priests) help fortify and kind of "make official" the presence of the Holy Spirit in a person's soul. I feel really silly and vulnerable delving so deep into the spirituality talk with a bunch of atheists who think this is nuts, but there it is lol. Please go easy on me. This is what we believe. Sure, and priests can't give sacraments without having been "gestated" and delivered by a woman first lol. At the end of the day, we both need the other gender to survive as a species. Neither one is more important than the other. We can't do anything without the other. Well, it is pretty easy to believe God wanted women to be the ones to carry life and give birth. ;-) The other one is a matter of faith without any sort of physical proof, if you don't count the fact that Jesus was a man and chose all male apostles ... but you guys don't believe in that either, so you can call it a matter of faith and I'm cool with that.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I'm not going to mock you, I appreciate you being honest.
My problem with "faith" is that what turns out to be true by faith for any individual is usually the first set of "faith truths" they have come into contact with. So it's arbitrary which "truth" you end up with. And truth doesn't work that way, truth should stand up to inspection. This method is more like a magnet which happens to attract the first big metal object it comes across and then has no room to attract any other ones. Feel free to send me a private message.

I'll admit if I was born a Jew, I'd probably still be a Jew. I mean, I'd like to think I'd really investigate the faith and come to find that Christianity makes a lot more sense, but it's impossible to tell if that would happen and chances are it doesn't in the vast majority of cases. It really does come down to faith. I could be wrong in my faith. Obviously I have a very strong certainty that I am not, but even if I was, I don't feel like I'm losing anything by following the faith I follow right now.

At the end of the day, we both need the other gender to survive as a species. Neither one is more important than the other. We can't do anything without the other. Does nothing for your case. Everybody needs to be born first. It's obvious and irrelevant. That's the part we subtract from the equation. To perform sacraments, only men are needed. To procreate, men and women are needed. Once again, inequality. And women can't influence the church like men do. Quote:Well, it is pretty easy to believe God wanted women to be the ones to carry life and give birth. ;-) Randy tried that one with me too. Suppose it's true. Is Jesus god? Is god perfect, infinite and thus sexless? Then why is a dick necessary to represent him? I didn't get satisfactory answers from him. Will you surprise me? RE: More atheist men than women?

Well, there is a danger in continuing with one religion, and that is that it may be the wrong one. Unfortunately there's absolutely no way to tell which is right, if any, so not much to do there. Ultimately Pascal's Wager demonstrates there's a zero chance that anyone is right, given infinite possibilities. At least you admit you would probably be a Jew if born to Jews. How this doesn't bother people more though, I can't understand! But I'll leave you be
Wait, I got one. Because, because... There's no science books in the kitchen! Oh, I already did that one. Because... erm... Feel free to send me a private message.

When He became a human it would naturally follow that He'd have human parts... either male or female. He chose male for I suppose the same reason He chooses women to give birth, and men to give sacraments. He didn't come here to give birth, He came to give spiritual life... thus he became a man. For some reason God just thought men would do better at this, as He thought women would do better at gestation and giving birth.
