Tack, the thinking person's edited version of what you quoted might read,
"He who trusteth in his own heart is a fool; but whosoever walketh wisely [believing in a collection of stories in one old book], he shall be delivered."
The fear the religious set have of atheists is justified only in their fear of having nothing to cling to once the man behind the curtain is exposed for having been just a man (or men).

So then those that don't fear atheists or atheism must have something to cling to better than a collection of stories in one old book. You still haven't shown where religious belief is opposed to or fear critical though, however you reword your cynicism.
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

I'm assuming you are trying to say "You still haven't shown where religious beliefs are opposed to critical thought and where religious people fear critical thought." If this is what you were trying to say then I suggest you read (or reread) the previous posts on this thread and watch the videos. It would also be useful to see how these points have been established on other threads on this forum. I could dissect the posts above and do a rebuttal via cut/paste/respond but I am not going to facilitate the need to have arguments spoon fed to you. I apologize if what I said sounds a bit harsh but if you said what It seems you said then your statement is a bit asinine. BTW I don't make it a habit to be rude or harsh but sometimes, as in this case, (if indeed what you said is what It seems you said) your lack of critical thinking is inexcusable.

Don't forget though, that it's the Christians in this country being oppressed & persecuted by atheists. In fact, it's just about time for "War on Christmas" season to start again when the fundies run around screaming persecution because a store clerk said "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas."

Wow, that was an awesome video and gave me chills but also made me realize I should continue to stay in the closest about my Atheism. I do not want to put my children in any position in which they get ridiculed and they certainly would in this area.
It is such a sad situation to hate someone simply because they use logic and see no reason to believe in a sky daddy.

I really do think that all the hate comes from Christians knowing they can't prove their god exists or any of their religion is true. So, like a petulant child, when threats of their invisible friend beating us up don't work, they resort to tantrums.

Yes you're right *sarcasm on* It's those horrible atheists who, by understanding the theory of evolution, create new flu vaccines every year and who find new antibiotics which save countless of lives. It's those horrible atheists who, by understanding the importance of keeping the separation of church and state and by working to maintain this separation keep the Christians safe from domination from any other religious group, like the Mormons, Muslims, Catholics and/or protestants (when one becomes a majority it usually dominates the others). It's those horrible atheists who, through the creation and strict application of the scientific method, have developed so many things that improve lives and make the world safer. Yes, I admit those horrible atheists have had a few misses but I would still venture to say that human beings have a much better quality of life than humans did in the middle ages. Jeees we are just a bunch of assholes. Those Christians are right, we really should listen to them and adopt their beliefs about the world and how it works. *sarcasm off*

Though the "pagans" (the word "pagan" being a matter of perspective) had it first, perhaps you could grant the Christians this one. As for every other day of the year except Easter, how about I have on my car a magnet that says "Keep reason in reason".

As someone who lives in "The Buckle of the Bible Belt", I get a lot of shit for being an out atheist. The xtians here are convinced that atheism means satanic worship. Even if you explain it to them they ask stupid questions like "Who do you pray to?".
It's enough to drive me insane sometimes.

I've dealt with shit like this for years, and I couldn't care less what the majority thinks about me. Should I really care what the uneducated, ill-mannered, and ignorant majority thinks about me? No, because I don't see any of them doing anything productive to contribute to society in the least bit, let alone their own family. When you're being hated upon by the ignorant majority, you know you're doing right. What sets them off is that you don't live by THEIR rules, if you were to do everything the little shitheads told you it would be tyranny and the world would sink into inadvertence. People shouldn't feel neglected by what extremists and the majority say, because last time I recall that Iran is a theocracy and god isn't doing a damn thing to help the innocent, let alone doing anything to provide merit for his existence. Ignorance needs provocation, and some people are addicted to perverseness and will do anything to try to get it, when you get affected by it is when they get what they want. The best measure to counteract their ignorance is to not let it affect you, instead it goes vise verse for them.
Fuck the majority, hail the minority!
Religion is like a Penis, you shouldn't whip it out in public and you shouldn't shove it down your child's throat.
