The simple truth

RE: The simple truth
I remember a time... Before Esq (B.E.) when we regular members would get the opportunity to have fun with these theists...
Now, A.E. (after Esq.), we get no such chance, for Esq takes care of them swiftly and with style!

I think we need to fetch the nearest roman figure of authority and nail Esq...

The simple truth is that TGN is simple and is incapable of thinking outside of what he has been told to believe.

Dunno And THAT is the simple truth of the matter. Big Grin

I imagine that it is not easy to think outside what you've been told to be real for your whole life.

I've been told not to eat mushrooms that I find growing on the ground.
I believe they'd be bad for me.
However, I am aware that some mushrooms are not bad... I just lack the capability to tell the good from the bad, so I just leave them be when I find them on the ground.
And this has been exacerbated when my father told me a story of when he ate some mushrooms and, luckily, was near a hospital where he could have a thorough internal rinsing.... not pleasant.

So, the best we can do is provide these people with the information to tell the good mushrooms apart from the bad ones and hope they learn and acquire the ability to pick their own mushrooms, instead of living forever in fear of mushrooms.

(did I take this metaphor a bit too far?...)

RE: The simple truth
Hello TGN - I didn't realize you were back.

I am a bit disappointed that your response to my explanation of the lack of knowledge of the functions of the heart by Jesus yielded merely some brief retort that God found you. I guess you couldn't address the actual issue.

In the meantime I am fascinated by this:

Quote:Well I'm sorry you find it funny, but you admitted that it's possible that what I believe is true. And since I have received the truth of the gospel supernaturally and directly from God, who cannot lie, I'm letting you know that it is impossible that what you believe is true.

What you are saying is that God provided you, personally with your very own proof of his existence.

Why?

Let me put this another way. God demands faith, faith denies proof. You are supposed to believe in God without direct and supernatural intervention.

If God gave it to you - then you needed it. If you needed it then faith alone is not enough. Proof is required. We haven't received any proof. Therefore, accepting the lack of faith - just like you - we are 100% entitled to not believe.

But God apparently wants us to believe. What possible reason could he have for producing evidence for you but not for us?

There are 2 possibilities:

1. You are his type and we are not.
2. You are delusional.

As the first possibility appears to fly in the face of God wanting us to believe we are left with the second conclusion.

Sorry dude. Get help.

Well, we have seen you try to save people (from themselves, mostly).

So what's the deal here? What perks might I get for following you, and what's your record for answering prayer?

So now you eat ANY old mushroom that crosses your plate?

I didn't think so ....... SOME information is wisdom. What TGN is spouting is just pathetic plagiarism at best. Mindlessness at worst.

This is my thinking.
