It is written in a form that was extremely common for the time and can be seen in writings from other cultures of the time. Christians believe that Jesus is that promised messiah. I know that many Christians believe that it's all literally true and I don't agree. Anyway, reading the Bible won't make anyone a believer. The only way to know God is for God to reveal himself to you. It's the same as me giving you multiple facts to show you that you are not female. I'm at least referring to real literature, while you are conjecturing. Ok, so the writers of the bible were all liars - and that's that! I'll mull over that.
Lek, Do you believe that there was talking dog running around Palestine (see below) during the mid-1st century? If so, do you believe that it was possible, in a way unknown to them, that Hanna-Barbera were divinely inspired to create the characters that they did, and, perhaps, God being omnipotent, the dog, being quite tall (per the Scriptures), was, in fact, a Great Dane, and that his name, when anglicized from the original Aramaic was that which we fondly remember him during our time? Maybe the original Apostles have their equivalents with Daphne, Fred, Velma, Shaggy, etc.? After all, "With God, nothing is impossible, right?" And, so, what say you?!
