We had a governor her in TN named Phil Bredesen. He surprised everyone by giving back his salary after he got elected. I think it's even cooler that he waited until after he was elected to show everyone how thoughtful he is. Don't you? Ron Paul has obviously perfected the art of generosity stunts. Woo Woo. Fuck him.

In general, individuals are greedy, not groups of people. There are too many variables to say any one group is greedy as a whole, though some come damn close. People who run around saying libertarians are greedy are much like people who run around saying democrats are hippies. It's generalizing.
At any rate, I do find the act commendable. He certainly didn't have to do it and it is a hell of a lot of money. Even if someone else paid him a king's ransom he did not have to return that money. What a load of bullshit Min, and I guarantee you've never bothered to look into it either, but we all know you're riddled with conformation biases so what else would I expect? Do a good search on the amount of corporate donations that the libertarian leaning candidates get, you'll find it is on average significantly lower than the mean. You'll also find that your "liberal" bum buddies get a near equivalent amount to the conservatives. All this info should be easily available on politifact, though you're probably more comfortable behind your blinders thinking everyone who disagrees with you is the boogey man as you always do. Sure he's a bit of a kook but I'd rather have a nutty guy who doesn't want to spend my money than an ambitious one who does. None of them are smart enough to manage an economy efficiently, so the one who wants to greatly limit his own powers is going to do a fuck load less damage than some self righteous fuck who things they can 'win' at economics. You obviously didn't read the page, so allow me to explain it to you. He was GIVEN a pre defined amount of taxpayer funds just like every other senator to run his office, but rather than being like most of them who spend it all he's mange to waste $500,000 LESS of it. Quote:It tells me that this man is so rich that he will never be able to understand the common man. You could at least try to do a little reading before putting your foot in your mouth. He's not some rich prick, for the last 20 years before entering politics his job was as an ophthalmologist (eye doctor),

You've clearly misunderstood. We are talking about Rand Paul, not Ron, and he's already been elected so this isn't some election stunt, this was a refund of the amount of money he was given to fund his office, given back because he didn't need it.
