'After-birth abortion' is logically sound

'After-birth abortion' is logically sound
Quote:A paper in the Journal of Medical Ethics, entitled "After-birth abortion: why should the baby live?, argues that killing a newborn baby should be "permissible in all the cases where abortion is, including cases where the newborn is not disabled". (Hat-tip: Catholic Herald.)

The authors of this paper, Alberto Giubilini of the University of Milan and Francesca Minerva of Melbourne University, argue that "both fetuses and newborns do not have the same moral status as actual persons". Secondly, they say that "the fact that both are potential persons is morally irrelevant". Thirdly, they write that "adoption is not always in the best interest of actual people".

In summary – and it really is this brutal – newborn babies are not actual people, ergo killing them is not immoral.

Sounds reasonable. I mean, that would save plenty of dumpster space.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Well, if killing living things is not immoral as long as they are not people lets go puppy killing! YAY!

I couldn't bring myself to abort a newborn baby.

But that's just me, looking away from the mirror for one minute, I appreciate the rest of humanity does not share my position, or the notion of the sanctity of life in general.

I guess it was inevitable that stupid unemployed kids having WAY too many children together on welfare have put us in this controversial and undesirable position. When they abuse infants and their own offspring badly and hold them in the same regard as 'frog spawn' we shouldn't be surprised that abortion would become an issue.

Since the "pro-lifers" are generally shit hot and shiny on the death penalty for adults I can't see why they would have a problem with this.

P.s I notice the source of the article is the Catholic HeraldThinking

Sorry, quick edit there, it was the Catholic Herald, not the times.

Niqabi Ninja, you have the rational abilities of an animal, any rational argument presented to you will is wasted. It is amazing that you can use a computer Smile Good luck though, I'm always impressed when a dog walks on two legs Wink
