If you give me $30 I'll interpret it for you.
I think it's natural to dream of someone dead who you miss. I wouldn't put too much stock in these messages unless they reliably conveyed information you couldn't have possibly known. Let's say I dream of my deceased grandmother and she says "I forgive you", referring to my guilt over not visiting her enough when she was alive. How do I know that's not just me making up her dialogue? I possess all the knowledge and abilities to make it up after all. The simplest explanation is that I just dreamt it up myself, rather than positing the mind and body being separate, the mind surviving death and going into some afterlife, and then communicating with me from there.

The human brain has a curious mechanism where it disregards what it considers usual and focuses mainly on the unusual. Coincidence that reality mirrored a dream is an excellent example of this.
You almost certainly have many many dreams, and only 3 have matched up with reality. Happens all the time, which is why we get so freaked out by deja vu.
There's a guy at my casino who hates playing AA in poker because he "never wins". This is not true, but he does attribute a "supernatural" source, i.e. bad luck because the times it happens are more memorable than the many times that he never has a problem.

If you’re going to watch tele, you should watch Scooby Doo. That show was so cool because every time there’s a church with a ghoul, or a ghost in a school. They looked beneath the mask and what was inside?

It's a bit more understandable if I mention he doesn't raise them. He just lets lots of people in the pot with him at which point he becomes a huge dog.
Nobody seems keen to educate him for some reason...........
EDIT: Thinking about it, this makes the original analogy inaccurate since its his own damn fault.

When a friend of mine died, I noticed that for the first week or so, I didn't dream about him, even though I was certain I would. Then I finally had a dream about him, but it wasn't a standard dream. It was just he and I sitting in a void having a conversation. When I asked him why he hadn't visited me, he told me it was because he knew I was stronger than his parents and he needed to comfort them. Later on, when I talked to his parents, they said that he was comforting them in their dreams. I believed for a little while that I had actually had a post-mortem conversation with my friend, because it meant that he was still out there somewhere. After being in shock because of the death of my friend, I really needed it to be real.
The brain is a powerful trickster when dealing with trauma, especially death, so none of it is real.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I'd bet he plays 'em bad and can't lay 'em down when they're beat as well.

Umm, yeah. What was I saying?

The one time I remember that happening to me with AA, the other guy had KK.

Only once. My grandfather came back to tell me how I was going to die.

I had one from my great-grandfather. He said something about the next Saturday lotto numbers, but it turned out the numbers were from last week. Useless old senile bugger...
I have no problem sharing a common ancestor with the apes; it's being related to some people that bothers me.
