Sacrifices are sick! Contradiction Alert!!!

And also not Biblical.
I don't care if it's "in" the Bible, sacrifices are one of the sickest things I could imagine. Sacrifice is a pussie's cop-out for accountability.
But anyways, here's some verses that'll leave a few ppl reeling with anger.
Leviticus 4:1-4
King James Version (KJV)
1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:
3 If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the Lord for a sin offering.
4 And he shall bring the bullock unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord; and shall lay his hand upon the bullock's head, and kill the bullock before the Lord.
Notice how the verse above specifies "sin through ignorance", this is an unintentional sin, not a willful sin. Willful sins were to be atoned for through supplication, prayer and repentance.
And now for the verses that directly contradict the above verses:
Jeremiah 7:21-23
King James Version (KJV)
21 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.
22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

No...not reeling with anger.
But certainly amazed that people can read this rubbish in its entirety and still think it is a valid historical document.
If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.

I ask this question out of a genuine quest for knowledge,
What is your opinion regarding things such as creation and the great flood?

Creation: I don't believe the universe is an accident.
Great flood: The bible don't actually specify a "world-wide" flood. However, I see it as a possibility and there are numerous flood stories from a great number of different peoples.

Creation: I don't believe the universe is an accident. But how old is it?
Quote:Great flood: The bible don't actually specify a "world-wide" flood. However, I see it as a possibility and there are numerous flood stories from a great number of different peoples.
Gen7:19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
Gen7:20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.
If the mountains are covered then it is reasonable to say that it is a world wide flood.
Which numerous stories would they be?
Bearing in mind that the geological evidence does not support the story at all.

Quite on topic IMHO, your OP suggests that you do not have a literalist interpretation of the bible.
I am merely seeking to ascertain your position regarding these parts of the bible.

Oh, I don't know that we're any better today. Even modern slaughterhouses are pretty sick! To be fair, the ancient Jewish people usually cooked and ate the sacrificed livestock and birds.
But I'm sure there are vegetarians who agree that no killing of an animal (ancient, or modern) is acceptable.
