Waiting for the Power to Go Out

That is the only area that I would be concerned with in regards to this particular storm. Do I remember you saying you live near a flood zone? If so, I recommend having some towels ready if the water tries to enter your home (and you haven't found some way of securing this already), that's what my friend by the lake would always do. I think you'll be fine, honestly. Your biggest concern will probably be boredom if the power goes out.

Waiting for the Power to Go Out
Hubby is rearranging the basement as we speak. We've already got some water down there, but its not too bad, yet... According to NOAA we're supposed to get sustained winds of 45mph and gusts up to 60 tonight and tomorrow. The wind is picking up. So, if the trees and their branches stay up, it's just a matter of time until the power comes back on. It hasn't gone out yet.

I think your tree will stay up, but I just can't say either way with any real certainly. I don't know much about basements, either. I have lived in Florida my whole life and we tend to call basements 'swimming pools'. Haha. I have no doubts that you're smart and cautious enough to get through the storm with no big issues,

Yup. I've gone through my fair share of tornadoes. But it's more the kids, I think I wouldn't be so anxious if it was just hubby and me. Mommies worry, part of the job description.

So who's all going looting? I hear there are some big plans on the east coast to loot all the stores.

The worst of it is supposed to be tonight. Right now it isn't too bad, raining and windy, but we still have power at least.

Yeah, even my boys are quietly playing with Legos and watching Scooby Doo.
