When you prayed did it ever work?

Again, no. The problem with what most of you understand to be prayer isn't prayer at all. Most of you simply bow your heads and make wishes or try and bargin with God. This is not prayer. We as Christians have been given to a model of Prayer by Christ Himself, and making wishes is not apart of that process.

That said, know it is not a sin to make a wish. Also know God is not obligated to hear wishes either.

God answers prayer, but understand formally making wishes is not praying.

That being the case, what's with all the praying for the sick that we get so often, most recently here on this very board? What's that all about?

prayed what in?

Forget it, it was just a joke, a play on the phrase 'phone it in'. Don't let it bother you.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

That was my entire point. What qualifies as true prayer?

Even your fucking jesus didn't put that disclaimer on prayer. Only a filthy apologist would make that excuse.
Some idiot (who pretended that he was around to hear Jesus say this) Wrote:"WHATEVER you ask in my name."

[/mischievous]

All of my prayers have been answered and about 75% of my petitions or wishes have been too. If I get a 'No' I understand why.

How? How do you know how much has been answered? Do you write some of it down?

Of course all your prayers have been "answered."
It's easy to make that claim and even believe it when you are the sole individual who decides what that "answer" entails. Ri-goddamn-diculous.

Dear god, please help me have a good day tomorrow, and allow me to overcome my angry boss. Please help my son to do well on his test and give me an answer to the problems I may have on tomorrows acquisition.
...
Wow, merciful wonderful heaven. God answered EVERY ONE of my prayers. See, I have proof that my god is SOOOO REEEAALLL!!!!

Across Town:

Dear god, please take away my father's Huntington's Disease.

...
Yeah, that was a selfish prayer ... I should've known better.

Fuck you and the rest of you god damn hypocrites.

Ah yes ... witches spells and "Witchcraft/ Wish craft" the very things a child would undertake.

A fine demonstration of projecting a desired outcome and then "living" the desired outcome. Even Atheists can do that much!

"Parking gods I NEED a Parking spot" Hey presto!! there is one RIGHT NEAR THE FUCKING FRONT DOOR!! Nope ...sorry drippy but your god doesn't answer you .... YOU answer you nothing more.

The Parking Gods are generally with me... Don't know what I did in a prior life to have persistently good parking karma. I got a bad spot once and my oldest said, "Mo-o-o-om, I thought you said that the parking gods liked you?!?" Ah, good times.

Reading that shit is the surest way to realize that you people are out of your fucking minds. There is no sky-daddy. You are on your own you poor bastard.

I quit praying immediately after discovering masturbation. Jerking off produced a much higher rate of wish fulfillment.
