No I do not assert that the things written in the bible are true because the bible says so. It has been proved that some events in the bible actually took place. This does not however, give the bible any extra credit.

That is one of the most juvenile things you have said. The crusades are common knowledge and have been proven to have happened. I'm not just going to copy and paste the info from wikipedia.
