Why can't a church pay taxes on what it takes in like any other business?
Why not restructure how the church uses the money rather than changing the laws?
AS an employee I pay taxes, therefore the place I work for should not pay taxes.
Great logic there, huh?

Good, you have little to say anyway. Just think about this, my church doesn't pay me, I give to the church with money that taxes have already been payed on. Do you give to your boss out of your paycheck, so he can give it back to the company, I hope not you seem to be much smarter than that, but if you do then who is the lobotomized monkey.

Look at it this way. Would it discriminate let alone prohibit black if black social or political organizations were taxed just like any other organization? They are and it isn't discrimination against let alone prohibition of people with brown skin. What makes that equation any different if it's churches?

Once you spend (or give away) your money it is no longer yours. It has now become someone else's income, completely taxable.
If you go to 7-11 and buy a slurpee, does 7-11 get a tax exemption because you already paid taxes on that money when you earned it? No they pay taxes on it.
How do you not get that?
Religion is a fairytale.

Because it's a church. Duh! Or in other words special pleading.

Lobotomized monkeys are less dogmatic.
Let's start small, though. HOw about just making the jesus-spewing motherfuckers account for the sums they rake in from dolts like G-C so we can see what they are doing with it.

I get why business are taxed, they sale things for a profit, churches do not and I receive nothing material in return, I also have to pay more taxes for the right to purchase things from 7-11. 7-11 is not a religion and there is in this country a separation of church and state. Tax the churches and we become like all others and can get back into the schools, courts and all government. Things come with a price.

No.
I have nothing wrong with the charitable works done by religious groups, keep that tax free, but as for religious education and recruitment, tax the crap out of them.

"The greatest deception men suffer is from their own opinions" - Leonardo da Vinci
"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)

Why should a church not be held accountable?
Simply because they're a religious organization?
That's the definition of special pleading.
Churches are not sacred, holy, devine, or any other bs label you wanna hang on Them.
The Catholic church alone is a multi-billion dollar organization. Their corporate headquarters The Vatican, is a sovereign state. They're probably the most corrupt company on Earth, and you think we should give them special privileges and tax breaks?
Religion is a fairytale.
