Genesis 3

RE: Genesis 3
Put a big red button to end the world with a sign that says "DO NOT PUSH THIS BUTTON" in the darkest, deepest, most remote corner of the planet and before the paint dries, someone will push that button.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.
-- Homer Simpson

God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion.
-- Superintendent Chalmers

Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things.
-- Ned Flanders

Once something's been approved by the government, it's no longer immoral.

How should God know about human nature? Does he have to think of everything?

In any statement about God, if you replaced God with "Mr Potato Head", it would be no more ridiculous, and have no less explanatory power.

(Whoops, edit to clean up!)

IA, when doing painting at work, I like to put a sign nearby that says,
"Wet paint-touch and see".
You may as well give them permission.

People trust you with paint?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I laugh my ass off when xtian shitheads try to tell jews how to be jews.

Elohim is the male plural form for god...thus gods.

You've got to wonder how the Bible would read if they'd had word processors back then.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

You think God could have given the poor bastards one? And some printers? I mean, he sat there playing with himself while they literally copied out the whole thing by hand over and over. And watching them make mistakes and changing stuff. Odd this didn't bother him. I'd be like, "Hey Bronze Age guy! Cut that out, I didn't say that bit.”

What a prime bumstain.

But in order to make the analogy work, when they touch it you have to break their knees and shout "NOW YOU'RE IMPERFECT LOL" and pronounce a curse on their offspring.

Yeah... Analogies between God and some stupid human really don't work. Human's live by limitations, for one thing. And they have morals, on the whole. And they exist.

And beat their dog. God didn't just curse humans, he cursed the animals who had nothing to do with the tree.
