Who does an atheist lean on in times of trouble?

RE: Who does an atheist lean on in times of trouble?
Statistics can be twisted anyway you want. My bet is that a christian organization is behind that study somehow. My christian mom told me if I commit suicide I would go to hell because it was a sin. I still attempted it because I thought hell couldn't be as bad as my current pain.
Religion tells you to rely upon god and everything will be ok. BULLSHIT if you want change in your life you and only you can make that change. Everything people have said so far are very healthy ways and they are all proactive. Being suicidal and religious is a very dangerous cocktail that nobody should ever drink

Yes, I am depressed and have been fighting suicidal thoughts for years. But I'd be far worse if I was worrying about my every movement being judged and what would happen to me after I died, possibly just for thinking about certain things.

I have a fiancé whom I live very much. He helps. I also do have a tendency towards depression that is genetic. Pills, proper diet, and exercise all help with that.

When I had knee surgery I used crutches for a week. Far more effective than any fucking god.

Yes, this. ^^

I have friends and family I trust for support. I look to Science! for therapy and helping me to look at things in the healthiest light possible.

That's not "faith".

And what you do with "faith" to that dog is illegal (in most states).

I do not require anyone i am a strong independent person.
Its wrong for me to lean on others for support i need to be strong and get over things. I do not want to be a burden on anyone emotionally so yep i don't require many many things at all really.
Atheism is a non-prophet organization join today.
