Well, at that moment i thought it was a hallucination. But, i wasn't completely sure. So i turned to the Bible for evidence. I accepted the fact it was an Angel because maybe my life was in a total mess and i needed something extraordinary to appear in my life to guide me through. Maybe I have created the image like Angel in my mind, and confused it with the nature of my reality.

The important thing is that you pulled through, despite our efforts to convince you that there are no angels, that's just technical details in the grand scheme of things Tongue

I think I was luckier, that my parents struck me very rarely and never over a religious issue. My mom and her parents of course remained stuck in very conservative viewpoints of the kind you found in Kentucky and Indiana back in the '50s and '60s, and I didn't measure up that well, but they didn't turn their love away from me on account of it.

I can't tell from reading you post about your family and their love states with respect to you; it's not my business to judge either you or them from the gallery. Sometimes I think parents love their kids, but hit them because certain vivid religious teachings convince them the flames in hell are literally like being doused in gasoline and lit up. Of course they don't want their kid to suffer this fate, so anything they have to do to try to prevent it, including hitting, seems worthwhile. I dunno. That "spare the rod, spoil the child" thing. There's kind of a point to that saying, but it's taken waayyyy too far.  Smile

I am just glad that I am not in KSA anymore, unfortunately I am still living in the Middle East, so I am just pretending to be a Muslim amongst my family and the society. Otherwise, i will go to court and get my head decapitated.

Thanks ^_^ (Adds 'metapoetic' to personal lexicon)

Prince; I am sorry if I came off as hostile to you at first. I was also subjected to abuse by my mother, though she was as far from religious as it's possible to be, so I know how you feel to an extent. So I'm trusting that you're not a troll, and I apologise if I thought you were one at first.
I think perhaps there are multiple factors that were key in your experience - the religious torment you suffered making you suggestible, depression, half-waking from sleep, etc. But the cruelty you suffered is probably the biggest one. What I'm saying is, whatever you've been put through, you can beat it, and no deity or supernatural entity needs to help you through it. Only by using your own strength and the strength of those who mutally love you can you continue to grow stronger.

Its cool man, do you see my profile photo. I am standing in front of Guinness beer barrels, my mother saw this image and she criticized me about it, because it is related to alcohol... in addition she torment me when i drink non alcoholic beverages, but contains a similar ingredient which is found inside a beer. A 'Malt'. There is no escape from this world, we are haunted by religious superstitious and ridiculous act or worships.

I honestly enjoy being around people who are more open minded, I accept the fact that we are here on earth for a different reason than worshiping or praising an imaginary being whom may or may not exist.

I wanted to add this:

Assuming what the bible said is accurate, and there was this Daniel guy and he reported seeing an angel, then I would say the same thing about him. Most likely it was a hallucination or a dream. The fact that both him and you had a similar one doesn't make either of them real.

Also, you've been very strong to stand up to the religion with all that pressure from your family. It's sad that they can't just accept you for who you are.

No, this thread is not blocked in the UAE, I am actually surprised as most of Anti-Islamic sites are blocked here. Anyway, there is a story were a Saudi man was sentenced to jail for 2 years, and a 100 lashes. Because he wrote an article on his blog page criticizing Islam and Muhammad. He was given 50 lashes and was sent to a hospital, he is in a critical condition. I realized, that it is impossible for a human being withstand 100 lashes and yet survive, its almost like a death sentence.

It's unbelievably horrid and cruel Sad

One of the last refuges of religion is brutal enforcement by violence. What kind of pathetic God needs people to be beaten into believing in him and worshipping him?

I hope you stick around here and can feel some relief talking to unbrainwashed people.

You mean Raif Badawi? Make that 10 years, 1000 lashes and the death penalty. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/...77877.html
But just so we're clear; FOR FUCK'S SAKE, USE A VPN WHEN VISITING THIS SITE.
Especially if you visit that link. Do that immediately if you really want to continue using AF.org. It's fucked up that we live in a world where some people have to do that, but that is the reality of things.

Let me ask you, have to ever watched the TV show Lost, basically in the last season or two, we discover that there is Alternate universe. And it could collide together, a door or a wormhole opens in order to jump between the two universes. The same concept with the TV show Fringe. Let us assume, there is another universe out there, I call it 'subconscious world', a universe populated by spiritual beings (souls), our universe where we live in, we can call it, 'conscious world', a world populated by humans.

I have a theory that, there is a possibility that our minds can jump between two universes, switching back and forth when we are unconscious, during the state of sleep. We can enter into a new dimension to see the unimaginable. We can apply this theory to all prophets whom witnessed a vision or a dream. DO you agree?
