That's incredible, Kingpin.

Right now, your daughters think that's really cool.

Someday, they will look back and choke up over what a sweet Dad they have.

When I was little, I wanted to be "Jem" for halloween and my Dad went to the trouble of making me little earrings that actually had flashing lights in them (you'd have to be familiar with the cartoon to understand).

And that was just one year.  We didn't have a lot of money, but he always took the time to do the most amazing things.

It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

MTL, that is truly outrageous. Truly, truly, truly outrageous! Tongue
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

Jem and the Holograms!  Wow that's a flashback!

Thanks, I had a lot of fun making it.  It hasn't been used in quite some time, but when their younger cousins come over its definitely a big hit!  I try to do as many little memory making things as I can for the whole family.  I also take the time with each one (hard with 5) to do something one on one.  Maybe it's just playing a game, reading a book, teaching them a magic trick or just talking about our day, but I know things like that go a long way in building who they will become.

Ha! Jem, my sister loved that show. Silverhawks and Thundercats were more my speed.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

Thanks :Smile I had help with the drywall mudding because I suck at that.  I had all the lighting wired in to a junction box under the stage and plugged in to the wall, so they could just flip a switch and turn on the whole stage.  It's hard to see, but there was rope lighting under the front lip of the stage so it kind of glowed.  All in all it took about 3 weeks to do.  Most time consuming was the brick detail to make it more castle like.

Never got in to Thundercats.  I was a Masters of the Universe/Transformers kid.

KingPin, is there anything you can't do? Or that you suck at? Do you ever get really unpleasent, nasty, or mean?

Nope. I don't think so. You da bomb, brotha!  Shy

Don't watch me play competitive video games. Tongue  I'm not a sore loser by any means, just a "passionate" player.  Wink

Let's just put it this way.  There is nothing I wont try to do for the family.

Oh, it absolutely will!!!

One of my fondest childhood memories was Mom reading a bedtime story to my sisters and myself,
and Dad would be a one-man show, acting it out.

Dad as the "Big Bad Wolf" huffing and puffing to blow our bedroom door down, was HILARIOUS.
(he was good at slapstick and self-deprecating humour)

Even Mom would be wetting herself, laughing.

And yet, it was just a bedtime story, with a little effort thrown in.
