I am a theist, what do you think of my proof for God existing?
RE: I am a theist, what do you think of my proof for God existing?
So, I've been away a couple of days...

Can anyone please let me know if Marisep has ever responded to any of the refutations of his original argument?

Or is he still trying to prove his nose exists?

Too lazy to read over a couple of dozen pages.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Thanks a lot to the founders and owners and operators of this forum, all hail to them that I am still around.

Dear atheist colleagues, please do not derail this thread with harping on my not employing all the codes here, but I am already into a trial to change WYSIWYG edit to simple edit, but I am not succeeding.

At least I am like the proverbial cat whether black or white it catches the mice, and is loved by its cat loving owner.

Another house-cleaning chore from my part for my landscape view here, please abstain dear atheist colleagues here from the sh** and fu** words, because I beg of you, it is not doing credit to, as you are atheists, to this Atheistforums.org.

You atheist colleagues keep on and on saying that you don't see my proof to be any proof, but I ask you to show me an example of how if ever you prove something to exist in objective reality, and I am not getting any at all; please at least see that I have presented a proof, you also present an example of a proof of something existing, step by step, before you even repeat again and again that I don't have proof for God existing - here goes: in concept first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

Our presence here in this Atheistforums website and that it is working properly is also evidence for the existence of God, in concept as first and foremost etc.

Addressing Mathilda: it seems that you are quite active here recently, so I will reproduce my OP, and you tell me just one thing only per post what is wrong with my proof for God existing.

Please do not insist that you have already said what is or are wrong with my proof, for it is possible that you could have better things to say now on what is or are wrong with my proof for God exists, but just limit it to one thing wrong per post.

I propose that you focus on causation, because you just bring up first cause and asking me what about the cause of the first cause.

How can any human person know what is proof by evidence when it comes to God existing - here goes: in concept as first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning, when he does not master the phenomenon of causation which is one of the components of existence.

Tell you what, dear atheist colleague, Mathilda, think about this statement from yours truly:

"The default status of things in the totality of reality is existence."

When you think on truths, facts, logic, and the history of ideas from your purest reasoning faculty and intelligence, it will be like Eureka from Archimedes: God exists!!! In concept as first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning!!!

In the meantime I am trying to observe whether my attempt is succeeding to shift from WYSIWYG edit here in this forum, to writing in plain ascii characters, and also thereby editing it with codes?

I am trying to shift to plain edit by reading up on questions in the web addressed to masters of style in Atheistforums.

Anyway, please dear atheist colleagues here, I am the proverbial cat that though black or white, I assure you that I always catch the mice, but only when my pet owner has good literacy and loves me.

1. Formulate the information of the concept of God, thus:
"God in concept is first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning."

2. Look for instances of causation in reality outside of concepts in our mind.

3. We find countless examples of causation in reality outside of concepts in our mind.

4. From the countless instances of causation in reality, we infer to the existence of a first and ultimate cause.

5. We find that the first and ultimate cause of all instances of causation in reality corresponds to our information on the concept of God, namely, the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

6. Conclusion: God exists in concept as first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

Impossible to tell. Whether he knows it or not (and I doubt he has the nous), he's using the classic Civil Service trick of burying his points, such as they are, in amongst a shit-ton of waste material. So when someone calls him on something, he can claim that he's already addressed it - we just failed to understand it.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I could care less if you are using correct codes are not.

What I do care about is you are completely ignoring the obvious flaws your "proof" contains.

As I pointed out on post #44, and others have also pointed out, your argument contains the following fallacies:

Fallacy of composition
Affirming the consequent
Equivocation
Non sequitur

So, it is up to YOU to get back on track and respond to those of us that pointed out the flaws in your OP.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

No. Fuck you, shitstain.

See, I didn't want to insult you like that until you made a big deal out of those words. You walked into that one.
I don't believe you. Get over it.

I have taken out the classic style whatever.

Sorry, dear atheist colleagues here, I am really not familiar with MyBB.

Whenever someone says that, I get the urge to use this video:

There is the solipsist position which states that nothing outside our own minds can be said to be 100% certified real... meaning, nothing can be proven to exist.
That position, you'll agree, would accomplish little. So we take the practical route and accept that our senses provide a coarse, but somewhat reliable representation of reality.

From that, anything our senses sense should be connected to a real existing object. There's how to prove something exists: touch it, see it. Repeat. Have others do it too and confirm your findings. Better yet, design machines that improve upon human senses and probe further into the objects previously thought to be in a particular way to get at its most basic constituents and understand the whole build from the bottom, up.

The trouble arises when one person claims to sense something that others don't.
Either the others believe him or not...

But, nowadays, armed with knowledge of how tricky our minds can be, we should be sufficiently aware to always refrain from believing such far off statements by a few individuals...
But that was not the case 5000 or more years ago... people had no idea... people fell for it. All it would take was a particularly charismatic deluded person and a whole tribe would be deluded with him.

So now we have a whole population of deluded people perpetuating the idiocy of ancient times.

All you said was that you made up this concept of an undefined thing that can create the Universe.
Then you said, not proven, nor followed any logical path to it, but said that the Universe was created.
Hence, the creator is your undefined thing that creates the Universe.

Here, let me define The Force as that which allows telekinesis and a form of precognition.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, there was an organization of beings that performed telekinesis on will and could look into the future, when concentrated.
Thus The Force is real.

Did I prove that The Force exists?

Touch the semi-rigid protuberance that's in the middle of your face. Should extend from between your eyes down to almost your mouth. That's called a "nose". There, you have proof that your nose exists.
Given that most human beings have a nose, I'll be willing to take your word for it, if you were to claim that you have a nose.
But, if you tell me you have a nose with 3 nostrils, then I'd be a bit more hard pressed to believe you and would require something else in the way of evidence for it.... say a photo (one of the machines that enhance our senses).

Learn, I won't last forever. (that's what my dad used to tell me) (I'm surprised I have to do this! you must be one of those special cases, huh?)

I'm going to hide all this because I'm using images to illustrate the sequence of events and they can be a bit large.

Definitely don't do that (my bolded).  Life is too short already.  That poster just continues to bumble and mumble about next to nothing.

My bolded was already addressed by new member Eugeny Anatolievich and ignored, like so many others, by you.  His post was #281 in this thread.  http://atheistforums.org/thread-45866-po...pid1429006

I'd describe your demeanor here so far as being that of a whiny little bitch.  Okay, my turn to be ignored.
