I rarely discuss religion or politics at school. One of the things we have been taught is that because we are in this particular field, discussing our personal lives, unless the client specifically asks, is off limits. And if we are uncomfortable with discussing anything, we politely refuse.

I wonder what food stuffs that (my bolded) would be?  I visited an urban farm in Oakland which raised "micro greens" I think they called them. 

Those.  Basically, anything that goes into a pricey salad mix.  You gotta have your finger on the pulse of whats trendy in lettuce, lol.  From the producers end, anything that you can grow for pennies in no space or time at all and then charge an arm and a leg for.  Throw in some tomato and some cucumber and call it a day.

I'm firmly convinced that certain demographics could be induced to pay for and eat grass clippings.

I am a warehouse loyal. I have my trusty 20 year old forklift as my aid. It is my only trusted underling. Basicly, I unload stuff from the factory suppliers and assemble material requisitions to other factory sections and I keep track of warehouse stock.

I appoint people to Fleet auxiliary ships so they can injure themselves so I need to send another and so on . This is how its gone recently.

My atheism isn't exactly a secret at work, but I don't think it's widely known. It was an issue when it first came out when I worked in another division (someone was persistent in asking me what church I attend) in that some members of my staff suddenly decided to put down that I'm unapproachable on the annual survey, but if my current staff knows, they aren't mentioning it. I know for sure at least two of my fellow managers know, and they're both very religious.

Generally, I don't think it's an appropriate topic for work, and I don't bring it up.

Pretty sure that most of the people I interact with think I'm a devoutly religious christian.  Probably has to do with my wife and I utilizing area churches in the way that they were intended.  

Marketing.

Tithing churches (and well kept churches in generally) are usually supported by a clutch of people with disposable incomes.

I work for a multinational company installing high end printer/copier/fax/scanner machines in anything from a one man office to multinational companies, also setup scan, print and ocr software and do user training. I also work part time as a guvmint assassin.
Since I work in the UK no one cares about my religious views, but as I send christmas emails wishing everyone a happy Midwinter Foodfest it's no great secret.

I'm so jealous of the farmers. I want to be one so bad. I feel like the only way to afford a farm is to marry into one or grow up on one. My husband's family is slowly building a ranch by adding a few animals at a time that I hope to help out with one day.

I have two jobs right now. I'm the senior teller/CSR at a small town bank on the week days and a breakfast hostess at a hotel on the weekends. I got the second job simply to keep me busy while my husband worked (EMS so he works 24 hour shifts) but then I decided I needed a big new truck so now I need the second job to pay for it lol. Well I don't neeeeeed it but I would rather not have to go back to never going out to the movies or to restraunts like when I was in my teens. I hope to be a stay at home mom (I worked at a daycare and I know I never want my child to go to one full time because I see what happens once the parents leave) My husband is almost done with school to be a paramedic, while working full time as an EMT, so when he gets his license he will get a very large increase in pay which will dwarf my two paychecks so I could stay home. We are going to start trying in January for our family so hopefully in the next year my life and job will change!

Marriage or inheritance is the best way to get one, but only if it is already paid off, and for the inheritance angle, not too big to avoid inheritance tax liability which will either force a sale of the farm you just inherited, or taking out a loan to pay the taxes and the loan will be secured by the farm so next time it doesn't rain or the administration gets a hissy fit going on about exports that make commodity prices tank and the bank winds up with your farm.

And then you can be a greater at Walmart . . .

Do you talk about your religious views at work? Of all the co-workers I talk to over half talk about religion or god. I never told anyone I don't believe I just nod my head to whatever they are saying

I live in the bible belt so everyone around me is a Christian. My coworkers know I'm atheist but after another coworker said that 'her' rights were being taken away when they stopped mandatory prayer in school when she was a child I stopped discussing religion with them. One customer I told lectured me for ten minutes so I don't tell the customers either.

Me too! XD Mine is small town only 6 people in the entire building when fully staffed.

That is horrible! I hate how they think we are bad guys just because we don't follow their games. I'm glad your new staff is either unaware or uninterested but it still sucks that it has to be hidden to avoid this kind of stuff.

That's horrible : just want to grow things and tend to animals. I'm sure when I am older I can have just enough to produce food for our family so maybe it won't break the bank. The father in law was an officer in the army so they have good money to get summin small started. Right now the well is being the biggest issue. I already get up at 5am so I know I can do the dawn to dusk work frame and I love getting my hands dirty and working hard makes me feel accomplished. I work inside at a desk right now and I know it is sucking the life from me.
