What beliefs would we consider reasonable for a self proclaimed Christian to hold?
RE: What beliefs would we consider reasonable for a self proclaimed Christian to hold?
He lives: "God sacrificed his son to give everyone else on earth the opportunity to return to him. Jesus willingly became that sacrifice. It was the only possible way."

What an impotent and unimaginative god you worship. "Only possible way"? How on earth did you reach that conclusion?

I'm prepared to cast it aside just as soon as I hear an even better idea.  God did it in strange and wonderful ways is not an explanation; it is the admission that the solution is beyond your powers of comprehension.  Evolution is not much doubted in science circles.  I think it may be abiogenesis you're thinking of.  But there again assigning it to cosmic magician is the same as saying it beats you; it is not an explanation at all.  Not all the steps for biogenesis have been reproduced, but once it has we will understand it.  Deciding God did it explains nothing.

It doesn't matter where I stand on this issue, when something is wrong it's wrong and it can't be made right. Yet many keep believing it so they will not have to admit that God is the answer. Besides whats the matter with God being the answer, seems to me it would be fulfilling to find out how God created things. Seems rather unfulfilling to try and find out how mistakes could lead to life especially when there is evidence saying evolution couldn't be. I see no evidence saying God doesn't exist.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Are you under the impression that facts owe you fulfillment, or that your being unfulfilled by facts is informative?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

More abritrary convenient restrictions.

Flip flop. He's all powerful, now there's this weird rule he has to work around, now he's all powerful again...

3 dimensional as opposed to 1 in the "turtles all the way down" theory ??

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Billions of people have come up with a god concept.  They were trying to explain what the sun was, or trying to control others by claiming that they could talk to the rain god.
Billions of people have come up with many thousands of very different gods.  It's called story-telling and imagination.  If there was any credible evidence of anything remotely like a deity, these "gods" would be identical, and proof for this creature would be obvious.  This is not the case.

Why do some xtians hold on to this idea that their imaginary friend is their DADDY?  It's such an infantile mindset.

"I have this all-powerful, all-knowing, eternal parent who loves ME ME ME.  If good things happen, it's because my imaginary friend loves ME ME ME and if bad things happen, my imaginary friend is teaching ME ME ME.  My demonic sky-monster daddy murdered his "son" to save ME ME ME from being tortured for eternity for being what it created ME ME ME to be, and nobody cares about the people who are going to hell, they deserve it."

Crap-loads of this ridiculous egotistical drivel based on some evil, immoral, tribal fairy tales all based on "my imaginary friend loves ME ME ME better than those people over there".

Your imaginary friend is the most evil monster humankind has ever created.

Why do most atheists think they know who God is when they haven't got a clue?

I was raised Pentecostal.  I'm pretty sure god is a figment of human imagination.
