So Bible rules don't apply to rich white people

Of course Trump does not ask god . In his mind why should he ask himself for forgiveness .

You guys must be quite happy that, as atheists, you're allowed to support immoral candidates. Somehow you think that the bible teaches that we can't support any candidate who is immoral. Please stop making judgments about what you obviously don't understand. You aren't here to have a discussion, but rather to condemn. That's the same thing of which you accuse christians.
Quote:You guys must be quite happy that, as atheists, you're allowed to support immoral candidates. What's your fucking excuse? You know, even in CONFESSION you are supposed to admit the sin. You are not supposed to keep trying to bribe the witnesses to remain silent. Or didn't anyone ever tell you that? RE: So Bible rules don't apply to rich white people

Quote: Somehow you think that the bible teaches that we can't support any candidate who is immoral. You can but it exposes your inconsistent morality. Do as you say not as you do . And shows that you'll compromise your morals when it's convenient Quote:Please stop making judgments about what you obviously don't understand. No we understand perfectly well. You aren't here to have a discussion, but rather to condemn. That's the same thing of which you accuse christians.Jeffries and all the other Evangelical preachers supporting him that I know of, insist he's a changed man. There's no evidence of that. The thing is he's already elected. They could criticize him sharply but they don't. If Obama had done this, you know he would be all over that. I don't see it happening but if it was found that Bernie cheated on his wife, I don't think it would change my vote but I would at least admit "He's an asshole for treating his wife like that." You have some Evangelical leaders making Trump out to be a man of God. The mental Jujitsu required for that is extraordinary. Even if I cared enough to do research, and I did find that the bible says "No you cannot support a leader with terrible personal morals" there would always be wiggle room for interpretation. Of course you have David himself a homicidal adulterer, as apparently one of the old testaments greatest kings. Just as seriously in my book he was also a torturer. So maybe you have a point But they at least shouldn't make themselves out to be imbeciles by saying he's some sort of Christian man chosen by god. If they don't, don't they then have to admit that Obama, who almost certainly didn't commit adultery, was also chosen by god? (By the way I think Obama was an average president, but still the best of my lifetime, this has been a bad 37 years for presidents) (March 14, 2018 at 5:07 pm)Drich Wrote:It's a fundamental doctrine of Christianity that you have to ask god for forgiveness. What better place than to seek atonement than during the ceremony established by Christ to reminded us of what he has done. For a long time this was my point of atonement as well. Again despite what the church says. there isn't an actual forgiveness ceremony. we can seek God grace any number of ways. |
