Easy: I selected my own values to live by.
I've known since I was eleven years old that an ultimate extrinsic purpose is an impossibility. As you may have noticed, I'm still alive nearly 50 years later. Lack of external value doesn't prevent me from crafting internal ones.

Some of it is redundant, but just comment over the over all theme.
How can you without circular reasoning and just appeal to that fact we do value human beings show there is such a thing as value?
All I wanted out of that thread, is someone to prove that possible. But I realized the more I discussed it's not only impossible, but manifestly impossible without God.
Of course at that time, God was a illusion to, he couldn't be the most valued greatest source of praise, because that paradoxical.
So all I wanted from that discussion was a reason to believe in justifying value.
Going the evolution perspective, I think it's obvious myths of gods and shamanistic stories would be part of how our sense of humanity and worth came about.
And I made a pretty good case why it would favor not be honest about this, honest about the issue of value, because the greater we valued ourselves and believed in it, the greater our survival.
And hence, it would also favor those who went along with what the Shamanistic leaders would say and not oppose, lest you be killed like Socrates

You should read. At that point, this is all I wanted to do. But found it impossible when I rationalized it, as I explained why there.
This is all I really wanted to be able to do. But it was impossible, and I became severely depressed at this point, and distressed, since I was the view we were all deluded humans and our concept of self was a delusion, even that we were the same person as a baby to now, was built on false magical thinking.
Than I realized how magical we truly are, and how magical love truly is, and the truth.
It was much easier to read Quran after, with this new found perspective. I understood the proofs for God much better in there and his oneness.

Meanwhile, in the real world..some people do and some people don;t value human beings..and some people value some but not others....for a variety of reasons, and for no reason at all. What's the problem?

You should see the relationship between subjective and belief in value objectively, in that discussion. The two I showed are related. The discussion with another member also reached to a point, where I said it can be a paradox, we give value believing in value subjectively believing there is a true value, but if the value is given subjectively and that's it source, and we need to believe in their being real value to subjectively value, it's a paradox.
