Well Trump has just made Brexit more interesting. The idea of being fucked over by the Americans waving an elusive trade deal is galling in the extreme. There is also a lot of worry about the Tories lowering our food and health standards and selling off the NHS. This actually arms the remainers and helps the Scottish nationalists. So either it makes stopping Brexit more likely, or Scottish independence.
If Theresa May had balls she should use the next press conference to overshadow his visit and claim that she is initiating a full enquiry into the previous referendum and allowing for a binding referendum on the final deal with the option of remaining. Then turn round to Trump and tell him "We are Brits. We can't be bullied". Her ratings would go through the roof. Thatcher was a divisive figure but her fans at least knew that she wasn't a doormat.
Unfortunately politicians are fucking useless.
This is what we need:
This is how the post-Brexit British trade delegation will get treated by Trump.

I agree, I think there's every reason to hold another referendum, even if a 60% remain vote was now required to reverse the decision. This is just stupid to carry on into known disaster.

I just came back from Brighton and its beautiful lanes. Never saw empty shops there before now, now there are dozens. Brexit is starting to bite.

Oh I have always loved Brighton and its lanes. I grew up not far away and went to uni near there. Was a city where you could be yourself. The lanes always had interesting shops.

Our day out was tinged with sadness because its now in decline. We've been going there for a decade or more and this was the worst I've seen it.

That analysis fails on one assumption: that Maybot was ever a remainer. In her six years at the home office she was the worst brexiteer, blaming her every fuck up on europe and generally and liberally playing "we need to leave" card.
It was only after Call me Dave told her that her job was in jeopardy that she decided to keep schtum duing the referendum campaign.
Her preferred result would, in all honestly look nearly identical to Rees-Smog's.

The only way the UK's staying at this stage is convincing the EU members that it's better to reverse brexit. Not going to happen.

Yeah... we need fo convince the EU that they are the responsible adults in this situation, and that they should ignore a few poorly chosen words spoken by an ignorant child. Let the child grow up a bit, educate it, then see how it feels.

Maybe the best hope is to convincingly demonstrate that our democracy has been subverted by foreign powers (i.e. Russia) and also elect a whole new pro EU government. As it is, in a few years time whe the UK is trying to get back in again, we'll have to explain that it was mainly the previous generation that voted for it before dieing off.

The dickheads will call it "fake news." That's what happens over here, anyway.
