You said it, Tizheruk. It happened both in the UK and the US. Putin is a very happy man these days.

There is a lesson to be learned here: Stupidity and ignorance are DANGEROUS. Being stupid and ignorant have consequences. It is very much in any country's interest to make sure its citizenry is educated and understands that being stupid and ignorant can HURT you.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

True a bad public makes for a bad government as bad soil makes for poor crops .

My sister-in-law voted for Brexit despite her husband being a German without British citizenship because she went on feels after people convinced her to.

They're also both extremely religious people.

My wives relatives voted for Brexit because "They want the foreigners out". Pure racism. She then went on to mention a confrontation with a "black bloke" that ended with him calling her a racist. I think he probably had a point.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Racists get so offended when you call them racist. It's as if they know they're wrong.

I am a racist... I support the human race, petty sub divisions are unimportant Smile

I actually think that there has been a coup in this country. It was an advisory referendum. It wasn't binding, but the brexiters are calling it the will of the people when a very narrow margin (which could well have changed their minds or died off by now) won it. If it was a binding referendum then there would have been far stricter rules such as having an exact plan to vote on so that people knew what they were voting for. People did not know what they were voting for.

Add to that all the spending rules that have been broken and Cambridge Analytica. Who is being held to account? What is the point of rules if they are not being enforced? It should mean that the referendum is null and void, like the Scottish referendum when the vow was immediately discarded. It means that people essentially voted on misinformation which negates the result.

The result was never therefore binding in any sense of the word but has been taken as an excuse to force a Brexit on people by giving them the illusion of a choice.

It was never binding, however that idiot Cameron did promise the public that action would be taken on the result of the referendum. It's ultimately his fault.

This is okay, Britain.

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-44815558

Quote:Trump: Brexit plan 'will probably kill' US trade deal

Quote:Donald Trump has said the UK will "probably not" get a trade deal with the US, if the prime minister's Brexit plan goes ahead.

He told The Sun the PM's plan would "probably kill the deal" as it would mean the US "would be dealing with the European Union" instead of with the UK.

You couldn't rely on any "deal" that the WLB would propose anyway.  He's about as reliable as a $3 watch.

Is Britain suffering from premature evacuation?

Is it pulling out too soon?
