Trump has been doing impeachable things for three years. There isn't really any room for debate on this, as the president has a hilarious tendency to blurt out the details of his criminal conspiracies in public, while declaring them perfect. That's the other part of how the GOP ended up with the "so what" defense.
A party loyalist might realize that the impeachment hearings would be damaging to party interests and thus not a good idea..and in fact that's already something that the dems have had to come to terms with. Not giving a shit about the democratic party, I don't give a shit about what might be politically inconvenient for them. Ultimately, they seem to have decided that that they're willing to accept that cost, or maybe they think that doing nothing in the face of blatant criminality might be more costly..but the calculus of their political decisions (whatever that is) doesn't alter the facts of the matter at hand.
The american president is unfit. That's not a smear, or a hitjob, it's not even a political statement. Just a fact. It's congress' job to do something about that, regardless of their party affiliation. Some will, some won't, so what..right?

No, there's no room for debate as to what the president did, and there is none ongoing. The president did exactly what he's being impeached for. The president says he did it. His co-conspirators say he did it. Every fact witness says he did it. All documentary evidence says he did it.

Republicans won't impeach the Dumbfuck no matter what he does/did. That doesn't make impeachment pointless. The American people will take notice. And maybe the Democrats will grow a spine and when they get control of the senate and presidency again, they do some impeachable shit and use this as justification and do whatever the fuck they want.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.

What on earth are you talking about OLB? The right side of the aisle doesn't need to be convinced of anything, they already know what the president openly and plainly did. They just don't care.
