Gentlemen, behold! The most hilarious suicide attempt in the history of cinema. If ABC Family counts as cinema, anyway.

You can easily count all the things wrong with this scene, including the obvious fact that she’s struggling with opening a childproof cap (something the Heathers musical played for comedy played deadly serious here), but the one thing I just noticed is why the fuck do they have a washer and dryer in the bathroom?

Childproof caps - oof.

When I had my mastectomies the muscles in my chest were cut and I could not twist caps off anything...even a bottle of soda. The idea of applying pressure while twisting was just not in the realm of possibility.

My first day home by myself after the surgery...less than a week, I couldn't open my pain meds. I mean I thought of everyting. I thought about getting a hammer and breaking the bottle open but I couldn't swing a hammer. I tried sticking the bottle in between the door and the jamb and that didn't work. Since I was still leaking various yucky fluids and the bulbs catching same made me look like I had my very own set of gonads...I was not venturing out to a neighbor's house. I puzzled and puzzled. There was no way I could make it all day without the medication.

Finally, I put the bottle on the floor on the carpet and held onto a doorframe while standing on the bottle with one heel and twisting my whole body. The damn cap finally came off. Yeah, it was screw on lids for me after that. Sometimes I still can't open a bottle of soda.

And after watching the whole film because the DVD was in the Half Price Books clearance bin, I can confirm that there’s no evidence the girl in the clip (Taylor) has the excuse of recovering from a mastectomy.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
