Thus, it is not a ref herring, or changing the subject, to explore the other side of that conditional and whether or not it actually is a valid modifier.Exactly If he was a honest interlocutor he would have aksed if objective morals do exist, at all, after claifying any possible differences in defnitions. Then he would have gone to gods and without gods. But he didnt, because he isnt.

My favorite set of possible circumstances is that there are gods, and an objective morality, but the objective morality is not the gods morality, and following the objective morality will get us into deep shit with said gods.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

That's not an answer. I'm boggled by the dumb answers I get from so-called brilliant atheists. How is physical reality not obvious to you? Or perhaps it's the difficult link between reality and morality? On a personal note, you're not trying to make a positive first impression, are you? Awesome, we've got another Twat Waffle for Christ. (Yesterday at 10:27 am)The Grand Nudger Wrote:(Yesterday at 4:07 am)AngelThMan Wrote: The point is that your opinion is not binding anywhere in the world. How can your opinion be true? Who would decide that it is true under atheism? "...as many other posters have already said, nothing about a god is truthmaking for moral realism" I have never made any claims about truthmaking from a god. Just that under atheism there cannot be objective moral values. It's a different debate. I'm making a commentary on atheism, not theism. So bringing up anything within theism is a red herring for now. If you or others can admit or grant that there cannot be objective moral values without a deity,l then we can move on to the other debate. |
