@ Shell B
Yes we take Bibles into every area, just as you would preach there is no God to everyone you can. The Southern Baptist Association works hard across the world to help those in need. We raise the money to take aid to all that we can, we realize that giving help to others is the most important thing we can do, this example comes from Christ's teachings and his actions and we do our best to follow this. We do not go into areas to be crutches, we help people to learn, teaching them to become dependent with the things they do have. We help to build schools and hospitals and give them the books, including the Bible, to help them educate themselves. We take medicines into areas and without government help. Some of our missionaries must raise their own support through local churches, they put themselves through school learning all they can of the new culture they will enter and the language of the peoples they will help. A great deal of our missionaries live near poverty to help others, they not only give of what they have they give of who they are, loving, caring people that sacrificing their lives to improve the lives of others. Yes we believe that God in their lives will be of a great help to them and why because we seen who lives are better when God is in a persons life. Frankly I do not care what you want to believe about christians who do good for others or how we accomplish this work, as far as I'm concerned it's none of your business and our success rate is very good in what we do and those we help give thanks to God and the people he sent to help them. No I've never been on a mission trip outside this country not that I haven't tried but things did not work out for that to happen. I do how ever give of myself here to help those in need and because of it I have many new friends, I could not ask for a greater gift. You should look into what the Southern Baptist do abroad and at home without government assistance. Yea I'm one of those southern boys who has many guns and I have many friends who do, none of use that are christians advocate giving guns to other countries, like I said that responsibility falls to the nonbelievers and Yankees are just as responsible as anyone else. No one in the Baptist church is going to say that everything we do is perfect, we know better and that is better than the non believing community can say, so instead of spouting your sarcastic gibberish you should take time to look into the real world of the Baptist church. You want to know where the real church is study the Baptist mission work and you will see where and what part of the real church is doing. It is a sad thing when people like you criticize the work the church does to help others throughout this world, you need to get over your hatred and be thankful for what we do that is good, if for no other reason than the smiling faces throughout the world because of our contributions to people in need. God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

I have never once even mentioned god whilst volunteering and I have done a great deal of volunteering. I'm usually too busy actually doing things to stop and talk about fairy tales. I am not thankful for douchebags introducing Christianity into tribal or Muslim areas and then leaving them to sort out the chaotic aftermath the moment they start killing each other in the name of your god. Take responsibility for all of it, if you want responsibility for any of it. I say that with the utmost derision and contempt. Could one of our computer savvy users design a translator that translates basic high school level English to stupid hick so this fuck can understand what I am saying? Can I just take this opportunity also to express my amazed surprise that a Christian points to questionably motivated charity work as a reason why their cult is a positive thing. What a fresh take on matters! Cunts. (December 16, 2011 at 6:01 pm)Godschild Wrote: Yes we take Bibles into every area, just as you would preach there is no God to everyone you can. That's the difference between us and you, G-C. Secular organizations don't hand out copies of "The God Delusion" to those they're assisting. There's no preaching, no sermon, no hard sell. Here's something for you to consider. A local faith-based soup kitchen for the homeless puts a price on charity. No sermon == no soup. No secular organization that I'm aware of makes charity conditional on hearing their message - no doubt in large part because the message is "help the needy", and actions speak louder than words, or sermons.
Strange that every rag tag bunch of yokels in these shit holes like to call themselves God's This-or-That. God is always on their side (and he hates those other subhuman pieces of shit). If missionarries would hand out aide and keep their mouths shut about the fairy tale they'd be doing a hell of a lot more good. No, they'd rather spread and reinforce one of the strongest arguments for ethnic superiority ever devised, the argument from divine mandate. Charity with conditions is a business transaction, not charity. Good people who leave their sweat on the ground in service of faith based charities could accomplish more with less baggage in any secular charity. I'd encourage any missionary to do so, because that person is worthwhile while their church and faith remain worthless.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Belief in god is acceptance of god. Hypothesis. Faith in god is sharing the identity of god. Reality. A verb such as believe is an investment of our energy - like joules to wire up a couple neurons to remember for the length of the momentary interest. A noun such as faith is an investment of identity - like steady flow of kilowatt. And we have dual state identity - like this one keeping to the topic with a burst of joule transferred to black letters on white; while John must maintain the parameters of John. Reinforcement and degradation of pattern; what we are, what we do. Quote:Godschild Wrote:@ Shell B

@Godschild
Serious question for you - would you consider your church's charity work to be a success if you left the bibles and preaching at home and focused on the non-theological work? |
