I'd like to hear from Rhonda, Thump and M89, or anyone else in Tx/La.
If memory serves Rhonda is in Houston. Edit: Oops, forgot C_L. Apologies.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Not a flashlight, a Fleshlight . . . The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

That's so he can see who's coming. Some of my cousins want to go down and do some "hurricane tourism". I encouraged them to go, but leave the kids at home.
Almost hate to say this, but after the eclipse, I find myself wanting to be in a comfy motel/hotel, 25 stories up, near a coastline, and watching a pretty sturdy hurricane approach, and then experience the eyewall passing over, the relative calm, and then the rest of the hurricane plays out.
Obviously, I have a romanticized view of such an experience, and am most unlikely to ever even try, but my thoughts come back to it this time of year . . . The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

It's pretty awesome to be in a hurricane, as far as the experience goes. Hurricane parties..also, the best parties.
You know, I know it's a familiarity thing, but the pathetic winds we get up here in the spring make me much more uneasy. The trees don't bend, they just creak and sway and menace the shit out of my house and my cars and my kids. It's unnerving. I;d rather be in the middle of a good tropical storm swilling vokda and pineapple on the beach. I was up until 3am watching the weather channel like porn, turned down low, while everyone was asleep. Woke up, put it back on again. The wiofe was giving me shit for giggling and squeeling like a little girl everytime they showed somebodies roof coming off or a surge coming over the seawall. I like the way they put us in our place.
