Scientists say there is an explanation for everything, even if we haven't found it yet. Mathematics is a mental construct.
Scientists don't believe the cosmos is eternal or without beginning, most of them anyways.

Perhaps you ought to be asking yourself why it is that, though we all feel that sense of the numinous, only the religious  fall to their knees in service to such a patently ridiculous idea as a wizard in the clouds?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Right.

What was the phrase you used in the other thread, Cherub? General debasement? Not all of us are moved to debase ourselves when we contemplate the vast beauty of the cosmos. Some of us prefer to remain standing. That you and those like you prefer to crawl in the service of a book's character is only to be expected of an Abrahamist, but it is not admirable and it is not necessary.

This quote from Richard Dawkins is from his Fixed-Point debate with John Lennox at the University of Alabama in 2007

And your point in quoting it? To inform us that even atheists experience the numinous? Well, no shit! We know that. They also remain atheists and don't happen to believe in your holy book.

Again, your point?
