Mass killings are a statistical non entity in gun death in the us, but, again, it is assumed that at least some mass killings could be prevented had the perps had access to mental healthcare. I don;t know what the argument here, between us, is supposed to be.
If our goal is to reduce gun deaths, access to mental healthcare will reduce gun deaths.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

But that would cost tax dollars! Can't have that.

The point is pretty clear even if we eliminate suicides and the very few killers who are mentally ill . We won't have solved the problem mass killing or even most regular homicides .

No one thing will solve a multifaceted problem with a complex set of instigating circumstances. Reducing suicides and whatever number of mass shootings -and run of the mill murders- that swirl around issues that mental healthcare can prevent will, however, cut down the lions share of gun deaths.

Any action will have associated costs, as does inaction.

I finally finished up the triplets tonight.
In the meantime, I also put together a mid gassed 11.5" upper for my form 1 suppressor.

We are planning a family outing to the WMA range in Decatur next week. Blue & Gray won't let me bring that many guests...
The Anderson's will probably never see anything but 55 grain IMI if they'll shoot 3 or 4 MOA with it. Mid gassed 14.5" barrels usually need something pretty hot, but the Faxon barrels have oversize gas ports so maybe not.
I'm hoping the SBR runs well with Hornady Black 75 grain SBR. I don't want to be burning any excess powder in the suppressor if I can help it. But once again an 11.5" mid gassed barrel has a short as hell dwell time so I may need all the pressure I can get. The suppressor should help, but I guess we'll find out for sure next week.
