Belief in biblical inerrancy isn't required to be Christian, its a relationship with God. However, if you think God is a quality of which many individuals have and humans can grow into, I think you're doing it wrong and your relationship isn't with any sort of existing God. If you pray to Mary thanking her for your salvation, you're probably doing it wrong (not many Catholics do this, but you never know). There are probably other things that are obvious, but I'm hungry.

So you don't have to believe that the only way to salvation is through Jesus, to be a Christian?

You have to believe salvation is through Jesus (who is God), yes, and that is the basis of the relationship with God. If you believe it was Simon bar-Kokhba that saves you, you're doing it wrong.
