In one funny incident, the cops tried to mimic the getup and engaged in s little rioting if their own....just one problem, they were wearing pd issue boots.....lol.

As much as I want to like Antifa, this shit doesn't sit well with me. Let's put aside for the moment the fact that I think a real anarchist/Marxist revolution must be a pacifist revolution in order to produce a genuine Marxist or anarchist result. Let's even put aside the fact that violence is (usually) immoral in and of itself.

My problem is that these guys ought to be beating down racist cops instead of dickweed journalists. Again, I don't advocate violence in any scenario. But I don't trust Antifa to take out the Gestapo were the Gestapo actually roaming the streets (and, in a way, they are). They aren't anti-fascists. They're anti-"the PR department of fascism." And when push comes to shove, that doesn't really count for shit.

I didn't say they were anarchist/Marxist, though. But since many of them are anarcho-marxists, my first point was (perhaps) a relevant one to them. And even if it isn't relevant to them, it's relevant to me.

I'm just saying that there is a racist cop wandering around a town in Mississippi, doing whatever the fuck he likes, and he isn't worried in the slightest that he's gonna get beat down by Antifa. Why? Because (unless he starts a blog or something) Antifa is pretty much gonna leave this guy alone. To me, that damages Antifa's "cred" because the racist Mississippi cop is where the rubber hits the road as far as fascism goes. Dickweed journalists are just on the sidelines cheering.

Having a belief in or supporting a system that's despicable is not the same as physically assaulting someone. We're not talking about Nazi Germany here. People are allowed to have different opinion, no matter how gross some of those opinions may be. How hard is this to grasp?

Would you bet your life on being right about that? From antifa POV, we are betting people’s lives on that, and it’s s foolish bet. Considering that people’s lives are -already- being taken.

If nothing antifa says matters because a few of them assaulted someone, nothing the far right has to say matters because some of them have killed a lot of people. If your assertion was true, instead of being fallacious. It does not follow that if I assault someone, nothing I have to say matters. A murderer can write a profound book (and a couple have).

You seem to have a limited understanding of what doxxing is. And it doesn't follow that if antifa doxxed someone, some of them can't get mad about being doxxed themselves (hypocritical probably applies). The point was that there was a personal element to the attack, there's plenty of other far right peeps they didn't bother to attack, for some reason, the ones who became violent went after the person who had pissed them off the most. Go figure. The attack was completely unjustified, but it wasn't JUST political.

You're either being purposefully disingenuous or you're incredibly dense. When you assault someone, nothing else you have to say on that specific issue matters. I don't think I needed to clarify that, and I'll just assume you're being purposefully disingenuous. When you punch someone in the face without provocation and then say, "Yea but he did X, Y and Z and I was just - " Nope. I have nothing else to hear from you on that matter. You punched someone who was unarmed and showing no signs of aggression. You're a punk. And anyone who sticks up for you or, for that matter, tries to give reasons why you're unprovoked physical assault might be okay or excusable is a punk too.

And... no... Naming someone who has already been on the news and is a public activist in their area is NOT doxxing. Period.

And, once again, that there may be a personal element to the attack doesn't mean that the core issue isn't political differences. Because that's what it is. And okay. Fine. It wasn't JUST political. A car accident isn't JUST the two cars involved in the accident. A murder isn't JUST a knife going through someone's heart. Split hairs all you want, you're missing the point entirely.

All of this STEMS from political differences. Period.

edit: Despite our disagreement here, I am in no way defending the position that Ngo is some great person... nor am I even denying that he's a bad person. But being a bad person doesn't mean you should be assaulted without provocation. I don't care what the circumstances are... who got doxxed, who didn't who did this that and the third... I don't give a fuck. We have assault laws for a reason. You can't just decide that you personally get to assault another human because you feel what they did or said was wrong. And if you think it's okay to do so, you're the problem.

Since when do we feel it's okay to question the victim? Undoubtedly, Ngo IS the victim here. Bringing up reasons why he MIGHT of been assaulted only feels like victim-shaming. It's nonsense.

And hey, maybe he's a bad guy. Maybe he did some shitty stuff. Doesn't mean you can walk around and punch people in the face unprovoked. End of story.
