More atheist men than women?

Haha, exactly! And they were absolutely objectively, morally wrong!
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Are men generally more prone to atheism, and women generally more prone to theism? If so, does anyone have any theories on why this is the case?

Thanks!

I think its just a matter of people "coming out" and participating in society as openly secular... its a fine line though, cause at the same time, atheism doesnt define who i am or make me do certain things over another.. i dont live my life saying, im an atheist, im an atheist, im an atheist.. i just live my life, or "thank you for your donation", "you're quite welcome, im an atheist"... so i guess for this forum and just life in geranl,  people just arent vocal about it...

as the saying goes, you've definitely met atheists before... you just didnt know it...

Ever? Care to put money on that? Tongue

Yeah, I hear that type of rebuttal often. If I can respond with a question: in a feudal theocracy, what do you think the greatest driver of mores was?

Indeed he is, I'm ridiculously proud. We brewed a good'un. As it happens, his initials are G.A.D.. he was going to have the middle name 'Oliver' until we spotted the acronym Wink

I incredibly rarely actually say I'm an atheist, but it is very different in England. I'd never just announce it unless it was relevant or I was asked.

Church doctrine can't and hasn't changed. Just because particular practices may have been customary at particular time periods, does not mean those practices were under Church Doctrine.

I don't understand your question. What is mores?

Congrats on a beautiful little boy! LOL at the original initials. Big Grin

I don't use the word atheist very often, whenever someone asks me what I believe or if I believe my reply is always "I'm not convinced".

Honestly, I'd have to ask how anyone can even tell how many men vs. women there are on a forum because most forums don't reveal gender, you just have to guess of the vast majority of people who do not explicitly say what gender they are. So how do you even make such a determination about men vs. women?
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide mankind that cannot be achieved as well or better through secular means.

Well in AF there's a member pictures thread and some people reveal it in the introduction topic or in their profile. From my personal experience (which could be wrong) it is more common for women to put status as "undisclosed" than men
