Can the forum's christians see the demons in other people?

A possessed person would not be in a position to defend himself by saying "the devil made me do it," so Drich's comment is not incompatible with demon possession.
While I don't doubt that demons have influences on people, Biblically it seems that actual possession is very rare. Almost all cases occurred during Jesus' ministry, which makes sense in a couple of ways: Satan may have been challenging Jesus, or God may have allowed demons to do things generally not allowed in order for Jesus to display his power and authority to the people.

Turns Jesus into a spectacle more than anything else. ![]() (December 4, 2012 at 5:25 pm)John V Wrote: Satan may have been challenging Jesus, or God may have allowed demons to do things generally not allowed in order for Jesus to display his power and authority to the people. Oh really ? And you believe that ? Or are you just bored and thought why not sit in front of my computer and join a forum to share some ridiculous crap with the world ?

Nope they only seem to be rare now. If you would go into any archive of any european city you will find countless numbers of mentaly disabeled people being burned alive - for being posessed by demons. Luther himself called for mentaly handicaped people to be burned. Knowlege and understanding of what things mean simply kicked your bulshit into the corner of things like UFO sightings and 9\11 conspiracies. Let's expand on this a little. God creates Satan, knowing he will turn on him. He allows Satan to cause the fall, and to do a limited number of other things over time. Then, god lets Satan off the leash to show off Jesus. Doesn't this fit well with the idea that god created Satan just so he'd have someone to label as the 'bad guy' for him to protect us from? So there is another reason for Satan, other than to be 'the bad guy'? Is there anything Satan can do good in god's eyes, and if not, then what other reason does he have for creating him? (and how would you know?) (December 4, 2012 at 5:52 pm)Darkstar Wrote: So there is another reason for Satan, other than to be 'the bad guy'? That doesn't justify a conclusion that Satan was only created for the single purpose noted. Personally, I think that God likely made covenants with Satan as he has with men. We're not privy to them as we don't need to be. Seems arrogant to think that everything revolves around us when we no so little of the angelic beings. |
