Also, the universe is somewhat biggish, isn't it, what with containing 10000000000000000000000 stars only in the patch observable to us, which is likely a minuscule part of the whole, if at all finite.

Improbable =/= impossible. Life is here, thus the events that led to the evolution of life did occur.
It might be billions and billions to one, but when you consider you've got billions of years those odds seem to be less unlikely.

Who is familiar with this theory:
The universe has an infinite number of planets, but not every one is inhabited. Therefor, there is a finite number of inhabited planets. Any finite number divided by infinity is as close to zero as makes no odds, so the average number of life forms per planet is zero. It follows that the total population of the universe must also be zero.

That makes total sense. And as a last step you can divide by 0 on both sides to get my pin number = grandmas birthday

Uh....Rob... i hope you mean finite not infinite.... but there is earth like planets older than earth so if there was sentient life they wouldn't care much about us because were nothing special and well.... violent and not.. very good in the technology department.

He's quoting Douglas Adams:
"Therefore, anyone you may happen to meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination."
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

My speculation is as good as anyone else's We don't know anything about him, if he exists at all.
Please invent the farting god on my create a god thread.
Christians usually imagine that if there was a god it would be like their god but chances are if some more advanced life created the universe than it is indifferent to us and could be more than one. It/they might even dislike the idea of worship
No evidence points to the possibility of a creator
