Somehow, I don't expect those answers to be so convincing as you find them.
Honestly, aren't you tired of my rambles? Can't you be succinct?
Quote:Give holy books a chance, what if one of them is truly from God? Then who better to convince you and explain to you then God himself!
Show me one written by the guy himself, instead of some power hungry "lackey" and I'll give it a go.

If one of the holy books was "from God", rather than just written by some bunch of guys, you'd think I'd be able to tell. Right? For example, the Bible and the Quran are both as rubbish as each other from my point of view. If one of them is truly divine, it's indistinguishable from a load of crap. That's not very nice of God. Or impressive.
And of course, why should we assume the "correct" book has even been written yet?

Gods still working on the first draft, but it never makes it to the printers..because everytime he thinks he's done responding to the silly shit we say about him, we come up with another silly fucking religion.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The actual concept of a being powerful enough to blink the universe into existence wanting to watch over and judge us in the first place is so narcissistic it's beyond ridonculous! Seriously theists? You're an equal with God? You talk, he listens? ...............fuck me! ..... seriously?

The problems you'll encounter if you accept the challenge are the following.
1) Not even Muslims who speak Arabic know what the quran is talking about. According to Muslims the quran predicts evolution, and different Muslims say the quran refutes evolution.
2) This is related to point 1, most people who argue against the quran can't speak Arabic so are at a disadvantage anyway. The people who can speak Arabic can't agree on the minute details of the quran anyway.
3) There's so many illogical miracle claims and claims about what the quran is talking about, I'm sure new ones have probably been thought up since I last took an interest in debating Islam.
4) No one will listen to you anyway because when someone wants to believe they won't stop just because you've pointed out some little petty contradiction.
5) Abrogation means that even if there's a crystal clear contradiction then it was done on purpose by Muhammad. Some verses do contradict others but it's fine because it's in time order or something. This is just going off the top of my head from when I wasted about a year debating Islam. (I did learn a lot about evolution and other topics though in the process of all this arguing so it wasn't all a waste I suppose.)
Don't forget the hadiths. For each one of the myriad of myriads of things that the inventer of Mohammed either didn't give one fuck about or was too confused to take a consistent line on, a later cleric had to come along and make up a phrase and attribute it to their fictional prophet.
Should tell anyone what they need to know about the reliability and veracity of the qu'ran.

They have a weird rule in the Quran stating that contradictions are resolved by taking the latest writings as correct.
Of course, what counts as writings and what doesn't is a problem.

The "forget we said that" approach. What a lovely suggestion.

In my utopia, nobody would buy into any old book of myth, but since we don't live in a utopia if one insists on a Linus blanket placebo, cherry pick your Koran/Bible/Torah/Talmud/Buddha/Vedas to the point you leave it at words when people offend you, and stop killing your fellow human.
