That goes for friends and family as well.

Though most of the time it's just JWs or some guy trying to sell frozen meat.

That thing with the frozen meat. I was elbows deep into the carburetor on one of my cars when one of these clowns pulled up behind me and said, "Hi." I said "Hi" back and kept on working; didn't turn around to chat. Dude got all cheesed about it. Why should I chat about his frozen meat, just because he's driving down the street selling it?
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I have no need for an entire side of cow, 30 billion pork chops and "loose corn". I don't even have a deep freezer.
Made the mistake of telling that to one of them after being approached in a PARKING LOT, and he promptly told me that he would happily finance a deep freezer in with any meat purchase. WTF??

Best to not engage their meaty little shenanigans on any level.

Anxious over it? No, I'm not afraid of strangers. I just open the door and answèr it like a normal well adjusted person.

I'm not a normal well adjusted person.

But I'm also not an unintelligent arrogant asshole suffering with the Dunning-Kruger effect Dunno

I know who I'd rather be. Someone truly happy wouldn't feel the need to brag about it so much. You get to do all this funky shit, and you're still a miserable asshole. Tongue

I'm hoping it's just annoying carol singers.

In the daytime I've never been nervous of someone knocking at the door. I've always lived in a well populated area, I'm very rarely in a situation where someone has a strong vendetta against me.  I just answer if I want or not if I don't.  It's usually been out of laziness if I didn't answer the door but then I feel guilty because it could have been a delivery for one of my parents.

An uninvited night time knock at the door is a massively different situation.  Any time after 9pm, that would get me nervous.  After midnight and that's pretty much horror film material.

With my living circumstances right now the situation rarely happens to me.  I'm usually either out of the house or asleep and when it's not either of those then I'm in the attic and can't hear the door and I live with my parents so they answer the door anyway.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

When someone unknown comes to my front door, I start moaning like I'm having sex. It's the same thing I do when I get from scam callers.

Um, can you give me your phone number? I'll only be on call for about 6 minutes. Promise.
