I've been following this story and there are few details that clarify his intent. I have the same questions, was he a fellow druggie or was he deliberately OD'ing the others?

So, I have a different opinion if he's a fellow user, though both opinions are pretty low. If he's just shooting up black guys to watch them almost die/die, he's next-level fucked up.

It might just be my having listened to a lot of Last Podcast on the Left episodes lately, but something about this case tells me comparing him to Dahmer feels inadequate. Sounds a bit closer to Harold Shipman, without the medical pretenses. Maybe if it turns out he cannibalised a few of his victims or that he had to get wasted before doing it. Mostly a combination of this Breaking Bad scene:

and this scene from American Psycho

And weighing in on the title controversy, looking at the article, I have to agree with the many other people who take issue with singling out Ed Buck's status as a Democratic donor. Did he involve other Democratic politicians in this horseshit? Was there something in his crimes that paralleled his ideology? No? Then that is incidental. John Wayne Gacy was involved in Chicago's Democratic Party, and Ted Bundy was involved in Republican Party politics (including being a Nelson Rockefeller delegate to the 1968 Republican National Convention), and I think describing them as "Democratic Serial Killers" or "Republican Serial Killers" is a bit disingenuous.

Yeah, from what I can gather. I think it was some sort of fetish that he had or something. Doesn't really matter if he was also using though because it seemed his intention was to cause his victims to overdose. Maybe he didn't want them to die, but he wanted them to take too much and essentially OD. As to what an OD on methamphetamine looks like, or why that would be sexually attractive to someone, I have no clue.

Nope. Just a catchy thread title that's literally directly related to what the story is about. The title of the CNN article is literally, "Democratic donor Ed Buck charged with a felony for running a drug den." The three words in the thread title are literally in the title of the CNN article.

You guys are reading way too into it. After all, I'm a Democrat. What do I care if this piece of shit is a Dem or Repub? If your response is "why include it then?" Then I ask you why did CNN include it? It's relevant to the story because it tells us who this man is in our society.

Really don't understand the unwarranted paranoia here and it's an odd reaction to a story about a man who literally killed people with drugs. Seems you should be concerned about this monster and not the guy who made the thread because you think the title looks funny.

edit:

Interestingly enough, I really doubt you guys would have a problem with a thread titled, "Republican Drug Den." Funny.

Well, here's an illustration from last year: Benjamin Sparks, advisor for ex-congressman Crescent Hardy (R-NV), was outed as having turned his fiancee into a sex slave. And this wasn't just some fun roleplay done in a safe, sane, and consensual way; she says "“Over the last month it escalated into very rough sex where he’d actually hurt me. He back-handed me… and forced himself on me.” I found out about this, and I made a thread about it. Title? Republican advisor made a woman a sex slave. I did not necessarily imply that this was done officially for the Republican party, although, I have to admit that given how brazenly misogynistic the Republican party has become (to the point where The Handmaid's Tale has gained a newfound sense of relevance), I did imply that it was a logical conclusion of their ideology. And still I got some pushback. Not quite as much as you did, but still.

@Rev. Rye

The difference being I never implied this man's behavior stemmed from his political affiliations. It's just a catchy title that is directly related to what the story is about. Lol
