If god can't lie, does that mean he can't do everything?

@arewethereyet Ah, I see. I suppose part of me kind of got that impression but at the same time, when you stop believing in all the fairytales, those who still do kind of all look very similar, or like they might fit into the same box. It's all ridiculous so all of it deserves challenge. But I see what you mean.

duh!? are you serious? David huge favorit.. the Jews themselves "god's chosen people.' he often refers to the saved as his children. then you have the parables of the goats and sheep, the wheat and weeds, the wheat and chaff and on and on.. the whole bible is about how to win favor with God.
Quote: Where is my personal visit to make everything in life better?
if this were it.. this back and fourth we are sharing right now, what tools what method do you have to discern that are not in contact with God on some level? so if he came to you as he did me as a homeless looking person what makes you think you would be able to discern or rightly divide what a homeless man possessed by satan or possessed by the spirit of God would have to say? supernatural stuff =/= god. it's the message. if you do not know god's word you will never be able to hear the message. whether that come from me or God.
Quote:If this sounds like jealousy, you bet your ass it is.
like it or not it is 100% the truth.
Quote:Supposedly, he's my Creator too, isn't he?
God only created Adam.. from Adam produced eve. everyone else aside from a hand full of select few are reproductions of the original creation. according to the parable of the weeds.. now all who grow in God's field are his 'seed.' wheat is planted and desired by God, chaff is a plant that look very similar to wheat but has a black/hard kernel.
Quote:I don't see how you can sit there and talk about the perfect goodness of God
I can do that because it is my lot to share my experience and offer one like it to anyone who would seek God on his terms. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4gthELz6kc&t=7s

again if you do not know God/his word.. how do you know he left you at all?

just because you idea of God failed doesn't mean there can not be a god.

We're eight pages in, and everyone's missing the point that God HAS lied.

Gods lie, and drich tries to pimp his videos. Ever was it thus.

And also the point is that omnipotence is not possible, that it contradicts itself, like God not being able to create such a heavy rock that he can't lift; that everything happens according to God's plan and also people having free will, etc.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

The question is still valid, however.

An ultimately fruitless question in considering the most urgent point of the entire Holy Bible - mankind's need to be reconciled to the Creator, the Almighty - through, and only through Himself in the Person of the Word of GOD, the Lord JESUS the CHRIST - to be saved from the law's judgment requirement for sin.

In essence, John 3:16... the good news!

And why does mankind need to be reconciled to the Creator?

Oh.... "to be saved from the Law"... that the Creator created.

It's like the creator isn't even involved in this. The almighty might not stoop down to its creation and chillax the Law because it's too strict for the thing it created. It must be the created that must become inhuman. It's the Perfect System if you want to have one that's set up for failure!

John 3:16 may not be the most vile, hateful verse in the Bible, but it’s definitely a contender.

On the contrary, it (along with many other parts of Holy Scripture) are a selfless, unearned invitation for peace, instead of mandatory judgment resulting in destruction.  Regardless of one's perception of the details... one must ask - who are the biggest beneficiaries of this arrangement? Wouldn't it be objectively expedient to investigate said invitation rather than summarily dismiss it to one's own detriment?

A huge human impediment to responding to GOD on His terms (and He is in fact the King Eternal with dominion over all things) - is pride and desire to have and do it "my way."

The Messiah says "Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it"

Humility, faith go a long way... we are human and honorably created in the image of GOD Himself, yet terrestrial "dust and ashes."
