You have no clue, (and neither does science) if the universe "came from nothing", or even if it "came from" .... anything ... or "at all'.
Roger Penrose, (Stephen Hawking's friend ... cosmologist at Oxford) wrote "Cycles of Time" in which he thinks the universe always existed.
The Big Bang is the inflationary epoch ... not the "beginning". "Coming from" is a temporal reference, (as discussed by Dr. Sean Carroll in his debate with WLC).
You cannot employ a temporal reference in the absence of time. All you can do is say nothing ... and that's all you know, and that's all we know right now.

Bingo! It's not a determining factor.  They could all be chickens, and it wouldn't hold any relevance because the study of cosmology isn't bound by their religion (or being a farm animal), and neither are their findings.  Atheism is an opinion and a religion, nothing more.  I can believe its constructs for whatever reason I choose and call myself an "atheist" or not believe them at all, and still be considered an "atheist." At the end of the day, it's just an opinion about "god(s) vs no god."
