Hi @Brakeman For people to hear and understand each other, the Forgiveness has to be mutual. Christians and Atheists cannot go into discussions already rejecting and assuming the other is false. So the first step is forgiving that we have our differences and that, yes, there are assumptions and mistakes made on all sides. The corrections are mutual, and when people realize the changes are also mutual, then there isn't this battle of wills working "against" each other to "try to make the other wrong" -- the battle becomes a shared effort to "try to make things right." I hate to tell you this, but only one side of that converastion believes the other is a bad person deserving of eternal torture because of his or her beliefs.

To be fair, many people have a reason to hate Bill Gates, as they have had the misfortune of struggling with some of his products. Since he put them through hell, they might think it only fair that he go to hell. Hating him does not have to have anything to do with his religious beliefs. Yeah. I mean, I wouldn't want anyone to go to hell. No matter how bad someone was, I would never submit them to endless torture. Or any torture in fact. So I guess I'm more moral than God, who knew?

Anyone who is not more moral than the God described in the Bible should be locked up for the safety of the public. "There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
