Christian: God is real
Me: No it's not
Christian: Yes he is
Me: No it isn't
Christian: Ya huh
Me: No way
Christian: Way
Me: Prove it
Christian: (crickets)
Me: Well?
Christian: I don't have to

I actually have to come here to have silly convos with christers. IRL, I get good ones. This has lead me to conclude that we only get the vocal loons. On the one hand, it's sad as hell....on the other..it keeps me coming back just to hear what they'll say next. That, and I like to read our threads to the christians in my life for their amusement.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

My cousins have offered to kill me so I can find out that I'm wrong about God. They don't follow through with that, we've covered that ground thoroughly.

Luke 4:3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
Luke 4:4a What the fuck are you talking about! I presented you a perfectly simple challenge and you reply with a non sequitur.
Luke 4:4b Excuse me?
Luke 4:4c If this is the best you can do then I foresee trouble ahead. Mark my words.
Luke 12:27 Consider the lilies.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

Actual conversation I had with a distant relative:
Her: Why don't you believe in Jesus?
Me: Well! For one thing I would have to stop believing in Evolution!
Her: You could still accept Jesus now and he would deal with you later on Evolution.
Me: Oh, great! I could become a Christian and Jesus would make me stupider!

You: I thought god never changes.
Christian: He doesn't.
You: Then he's still just as cruel now as he was in the ot.
Christian: You just don't understand. God doesn't change, but the dispensation changed.
You: So what god dispensed in the ot he is no longer dispensing.
Christian: Yes. See he didn't change. He meant for it to be that way from the beginning.
You. He meant to change?
Christian: No, no, no.
You: You have a definition of change to which I am not privy.
Is that an argument you made up in your own head? Because literally no one has made that argument...
The old covenant was made with the Jew not the Gentile, therefore the premise of your fake argument is false.

And the religion OF Jesus is Judaism.
There is a religion ABOUT Jesus, and it's called Christianity.
Maybe that's were everyone gets confused ??
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

The terms Judaism and Christianity aren't mentioned in the Bible (KJV), those are simply names that were attached to the 'law of Moses' and the 'Gospel of Jesus Christ', they two side of the same coin.

Derailed thread. We WERE talking about silly conversations.
Like the one I had with a preacher - I asked him why he used "thee and thou" when he prayed. His response, "because JESUS did, and we follow HIS example!"
